Chapter 104

Jane was astounded when she saw Uriel’s angry face. She pushed him away from Wade and pulled Wade behind her back. Jane didn’t know how Uriel discovered what Jane had planned, but Jane was sure that everything would not be okay. Jane massaged her temple as Uriel wanted to grab Wade again, but she was so fast to dodge it.

“What are you doing here, Uriel? How did you find out that I planned a meeting here?” Jane asked her brother. Jane was sure that her parents were the ones who spilled the secrets. Jane glanced at Mr. and Mrs. Fontaine because she was annoyed that Uriel had ruined her plans because of Uriel.

As she glimpsed at her parents, she saw that Mrs. Fontaine shook her head as if she was informing her that Jane wasn’t the one who told Uriel about her plans. Now, Jane, that it was Mr. Fontaine.

“Dad, did you inform Uriel about this plan? Seriously!” Jane asked in disbelief. She saw that Mr. Fontaine took a deep breath as if he felt that something terrible might happen especially when Mrs. Fontaine gave him a deathly glare.

“I didn’t know that I didn’t need to inform him. Jane, he’s your brother, and there is nothing wrong if I tell him about this appointment. After all, he’s the one who helps me to reschedule everything. I know how protective your brother is, but he’s doing it because he loves you, and he didn’t want you to get hurt for choosing some random assholes out there.” Mr. Fontaine explained he massaged his nape and avoided seeing his wife.

“Huh? You didn’t want me to know you are introducing your fiance today. I can’t believe this! Jane, you are my sister, and how could you do this to me? You hurt my fucking feelings. I didn’t do anything wrong with you!” Uriel almost yelled, hardly breathing, before he turned around.

“Then enjoy your meeting without me.” Urieel stopped talking and gnashed his teeth. “Wade, I don’t want to see you anymore. You are not my friend started today, and Jane, you are not my sister anymore.”

Uriel felt that he was spitting some venom; he left the restaurant and didn’t see how Jane’s expression softened. It was her first time hearing Uriel saying those words. She didn’t know if he genuinely meant it, especially since Uriel loved her.

“Mom…” Jane called her mother. She might be cold regarding others, but she is different regarding her family. Jane felt her heart clench as she couldn’t remove her sight from the restaurant door.

Jane’s mouth trembled. She felt emotionally unstable because of her brother. She sighed and looked at Wade when she felt his hand on her waist.

“Mr. and Mrs. Fontaine, I'm sorry if this will happen, but I believe we need to make Uriel agree to meet with us before we tell you the good news.” Wade knew that Jane was affected by what happened. When Uriel spoke those words, he noticed how Jane's expression changed. Jane was hurt, and Wade was sure of that.

Mrs. Fontaine nodded her head. She felt guilty for hiding her son's information. Even though Jane wanted her not to say anything to Uriel, she still had a chance to tell Uriel everything.

“I don't want Uriel to get mad at me more. But—”

“Mom, Dad, I'm pregnant.” Jane couldn't stop herself from telling the truth. She didn't want to wait any longer because her belly might be noticeable, and she didn't want her parents to know it later.

“W-What?” Mrs. Fontaine widened her eyes in surprise. Her lips trembled, and her eyes blurred. “I–I will be a grandma now!” Mrs. Fontaine exclaimed.

Her lips formed and fell on her cheeks. Mr. Fontaine caressed her back, which made Mrs. Fontaine cry harder.

“My daughter is pregnant now. I'm a grandma now. Huh, thank goodness! I can finally experience how to be a grandmother.” Mrs. Fontaine mumbled. She was so happy that she wanted to jump for joy.

Jane bit her lips. She knew that her mother would accept the baby with wide arms open.

“Thank you, Mom. I still can't believe that I'm pregnant.” Jane felt that her heart would explode in happiness, but when she remembered her brother, Uriel, her joy faded.

“Congratulations, Jane. I think you shall tell your brother about this.” Mr. Fontaine suggested, and so they continued their meeting without Uriel, which made Uriel even madder when the man that he hired told him that his family and Wade still enjoyed their lunch without him.

Uriel gritted his teeth in too much anger. He didn't like what happened to Jane, especially since he was getting married to Wade. He had known Wade for so long, and he knew how Wade wanted to fuck with some random women out there. He was a player, and he didn't like the idea that his sister would get hurt.

Uriel clasped his hands on the table, and he realized that Wade was so close to Leo while Jane was working in Blossom's company. He was sure that Leo knew about their affair, and Leo didn't even inform him about it because he would do everything to stop Wade from pursuing Jane.

“Sir, Mr. Leopold Fontaine is here.” Uriel's secretary informed him. Uriel's expression turned dark because of Leo. He knew Leo was still mad at him because of what he had done when he and Blossom went to his island, but Jane was a different topic!

Uriel nodded his head, and he continued to sign all of the papers on his table when Leo came inside. Leo was in his usual poker face, and he didn't even greet him.

Leo acted that Uriel's company was his, which made him more irritated.

“I didn't know that you had an appointment with me. Leo, I think you don't like it when someone barges in without an appointment, right?” Uriel sarcastically said. He gripped his hands, and seeing that Leo wasn't affected, he wanted to punch his face.

“I think you know why I'm here. I'm here to explain everything to you.” Leo's tone was cold, and Uriel couldn't stop himself from thinking of Jane.

“Fucker! How could you do this to me? I'm your cousin, and you know that Wade is such an asshole! Leo, is this your way of making me mad at you? She is your cousin!” Uriel was hoping that she could grab Leo's collar, and smack him by the table.

“Leo, I didn't even to fight with you because you are my cousin even though sometimes you are so unfair to me,” Uriel added, which made Leo try to make Uriel see that he was affected by his words.

“You choose Wade more than me. And I understand why. Wade is your loyal dog, and you used him as your bait with my sister because you know that Jane could handle our company.” Uriel didn't even think twice to say those words. He was furious because all of them betrayed him.

They might have said that he was overreacting, but all he wanted to do was to protect his sister from heartbreak. He didn't want to see Jane cry because of a man who cheated on her, and now it looked like it would happen too fast.

“Uriel, Wade isn't like that. Okay, let's be real. I know that you know that he is such a man whore, but he stopped it when I had a deal with him. Wade loves Jane so much that he didn't want to pursue her because of his past. So I told him that if he truly loves Jane so much, he will stop what he was doing. Then, that's what happened next. Well, at first, I didn't know how Wade approached your sister but I want you to know that Wade was true to his feelings for Jane.”

“Jane is getting older. You can't cage her as long as you wanted. Jane is a human, she's not a pet that you can instruct whatever you wanted her to do. Uriel, you are getting older too, and you will have your own family. Did you like Jane to grow old alone?” It was the longest words that Leo had been said to Uriel.

Uriel blinked his eyes when he realized why Leo had been done those things. But, why Leo didn't you want him to know everything?

“I want her to be happy. Did you know how I protected Jane? Of course not. I am always the one who is the villain between us.” Leo added and took a deep breath. Uriel didn't know what he was going to say. It was true that he didn't know what had happened to Jane because Jane was so secretive.

“You are her brother, but once you build your family, you will forget about her, and there is a chance she will live alone. Uriel, sometimes our overprotectiveness can cause us to be more greedy. Jane didn't want to invite you because she feared you would hurt Wade.”

“Leo, I didn't know that you are their spokesperson now. You are cold like an ice, and now you are meddling in someone's business.”

“Jane is my business, too. I treated her as my sister. You didn't know everything about me.”

“You are the great Leopold Fontain; how couldn't I know everything about you?” Uriel scoffed and took a deep breath when he spoke. He thought that Leo would be mad at him.

However, instead of getting mad, Leo patiently gasped and said. “Not everything in the tabloids is true. If I did those things at Jane because of the company, why would I let her train in Blossom's company? Jane didn't want to work for our company because she wanted to work with someone she could enjoy.”

“And it looks like you didn't know about it. Jane didn't like the company; she didn't want others to know she belonged to the Fontaine. But I knew what she felt, Uriel.”

Uriel kept staring at the wall after Leo left his company. He felt that he didn't know his sister. He did everything to be his excellent brother and protect her. He remembered how he punched some boys whenever those men wanted to fight with her.

He was about to resume his work when someone came to his office; it was Wade who made me fuming mad as he remembered that they continued their lunch without him. He felt that Jane didn't give him importance so that he would do the same things.

“What are you doing here, cradle snatcher?” Uriel mockingly greeted Wade, but Wade only smiled at him. Uriel groaned and took something to his desk.

“Uriel, you don't need to worry about your sister. Because I indeed love her. I couldn't even remove her from my mind when Leo gave me her pictures.” Wade sat on the chair and didn't wait for Uriel to say he could sit now. Uriel frowned; he didn't even know that Wade was madly in love with his sister.

“I tried a lot of times to stop myself from loving her. I witnessed how she fell in love with Daniel, which made me want to play more with women's feelings. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I can't stop falling deeper in love with her. Jane is such a lovely lady, and I like how cold she was when it came to me.”

“Uriel, Jane is pregnant. She's pregnant with my child, and I know she is hurting now. I saw her cry secretly in our bedroom; whenever I asked her, she kept saying she was only emotional.” Wade added, which made Uriel get stunned for a little moment.

Uriel widened his eyes in disbelief. He couldn't believe his friend was secretly fucking his lovable sister behind his back.

And now, Jane was pregnant with Wade's child. He didn't have a choice but to agree to their upcoming wedding.
