I got to school in a hurry because Kate had called me. I met her in the hallway where she was anxiously waiting for me. I looked at her face. “Kate, what is wrong?”
“You have to see this.” Kate held my hand as she dragged me along and I followed her like a moron.
“Kate, slow down,” I shouted, at this rate, we could bump into someone and be in a whole lot of trouble but Kate didn’t listen to me.
“We are here.” She announced as she stopped and I had to adjust my hair while I eased my breathing to get a clear head of whatever she wanted to show me.
“What is it?” I traced Kate’s gaze towards a big banner pasted close to our practice room as my eyes dilated at the sight of my image and Robin’s own engraved in heart and a marker carving my face out like that of a cat was also included with a boldly written word on it ‘IVANA SHOULDN’T DATE ROBIN BECAUSE SHE IS WAY UGLY’
I blinked a couple of times. “Who…” I pointed at the banner and I could feel how hot in anger my face was. “Who put this up!” I shouted. This was a great sign of humiliation, more especially it was close to the practice room where everyone who goes in or comes in could see it.
“You look so ugly.” Katherine walked close to us as she shook her head while looking at the picture in the banner. “They are right, you are not fit for Robin.” Katherine turned her eyes to look at me who was glaring at her as she pointed at my face. “Cat’s should be cute, but…” she shook her head at me in disgust as she walked into the practice room.
I looked at Kate who was also looking at my wet eyes. “I don’t know who put it up, it was up there when I arrived, I am sure it would be the mean girls.”
“I want to take it off Kate, but my hands won’t get to that place.” I was almost sobbing since those who were passing by were pointing at my face while they giggled and walked into the practice room.
“This is outright bullying!” Kate said in agitation and I know she was also mad at whoever did this.
“Everyone must have seen this,” I muttered.
“I am sure they have, some think it’s cute, while others think it’s way worse than a usual cat.'' Kate and I turned at the same time in the direction of the voice to see Ryan standing there with a smile on his face.
Was there an end to his annoying nature?
“Why are you growling at me?” Ryan shrugged. “I am just sharing my point of view on this wonderful picture.” He pointed at the banner. “I love cats, if your eyes weren’t blue, then it would have been perfect since cat’s with blue eyes are so scary.” He touched his chin as he turned to me with a smile but my hand was curled in a fist to smack him across the face.
“Don’t let him get to you,” Kate told me as she also glared at Ryan who smirked at us.
“You are still cute, but honestly, I don’t know if your beauty matches that of Robin.” He shook his head and clicked his hand on my face. “Honestly, it doesn’t.” He raised his brows with a smile and head into the practice room, the tears I was holding back rolled down my cheek.
All these made my thoughts turn back to seeing Robin with that girl and how he had also left home so early and without me, also his friend who should support me is saying I am not so pretty, it was so bad but right now I am thinking of falling back into a relationship with Hinn Carlos.
“Don’t think of coming back to me.” I heard a male voice and turned my eyes to see Hinn Carlos standing behind us as my heart broke into a thousand pieces. I haven’t let the words out of my lips but I am getting the answers already.
“Hinn…”
Hinn Carlos walked close to me as he looked up at the banner. “You both look perfect together,” Hinn said softly and I also turned my eyes to look at his face to see if he was mocking me or being sincere. “I mean it.” He looked at me. “If this little thing can make you cry, Ivana, then I don’t think Robin would have fallen in love with you.” He stretched his hand and wiped my tears.
“Hinn…”
“Shhh…” Hinn placed his hand on my lip to keep them from shooting. “You want to be a star Ivana, this isn’t even close to what stars go through and you are already in tears and trying to quit, if you become a celebrity, you would have to go through things worse than this, I am so jealous of you and Robin, it’s too early but you are both having anti-fan.” He said with a smile and I scoffed at him.
“Is it a thing to be proud of? I haven’t gotten a single fan and here I am getting people who mock me.” I turned to look at the banner once more. “Do I look so ugly?” I sniffled as I glanced up at Hinn who was staring at me.
“If not for a thing, I wouldn’t have let you go, but, that thing isn’t because you are ugly, but because you and Robin love each other.” He took a deep breath as I could see the sincerity in his eyes and could tell he was saying the truth.
No matter what happens in the past, I still don’t hate Hinn Carlos, he meant well if I should look at things from his angle.
“I am not saying this to make you feel better, I am saying it because it is the truth.” Hinn leaned close to tell me and I smiled. “But, come to think of it, where is Robin?” Hinn looked around and then turned to me but I looked away.
Should I just rant to Hinn that Robin has found a girl he missed a lot and is somewhere with her doing something I have no idea of?
“He must be on his way to the practice hall, we better hurry in before the director sees us hanging around,” I told Hinn and pulled Kate with me as we headed into the practice hall, before going in I glanced over my shoulder for any sight of Robin but couldn’t see him.
I chuckled to myself as we got into the hall. After all, I am on my own, there is no need to think of getting help from a person who cares for someone else, to hell with his words about caring about my dream and trying to help.
If he ever steps foot in my room, I will send him away with a smack on his face. To hell with Robin and his smooth-talking words.
