I heard a knock on my room door and I groaned covering my ear with my pillow.
My alarm had only gone off a few minutes ago and I had only turned it off to go back to sleep but then this knock.
I knew who it was, just like the past few weeks, Robin was knocking so early to make me get up for exercise.
The main show was in a week and last week ran as fast as it could. I was so stressed out with practice since the director was no longer taking it easy on us.
I was exhausted with it coupled with Robin’s consistently waking me up to go with him for a morning run.
I take back my words about Robin being caring if ever I have said that in the past, I had told him I needed to practice hard for the show not for him to torture me to lose weight, I can't tell I it was payback for ignoring him and using practice as an excuse.
My room door was pushed open and I bit down on my lips, I thought I had locked it when I went to sleep last night. I must have been so tired from doing that.
"Wake up Ivana." Robin pulled my quilt over my shoulder and walked over to my window and he opened it up as a bright light flashed on my face. "Get up." He said again and I sat up and glared at him.
"Can't you just let me sleep for a few more minutes, I am so tired, my bones feel exhausted?" I blinked at him like a puppy dog hoping he could consider it and let me be.
"That's a no Ivana." He walked over to my wardrobe and opened it up, taking my sweat pants out and he lay them on my bed. "Get dressed, we are going for a run." He said and I furrowed my brows.
"You will truly make a good coach rather than a boyfriend," I said these words with clenched teeth and he turned to me with a smile on his lips.
"If this is the only way I would assist you then I will be glad to do it even if you don't like it, so get up." He told me and held my hand to pull me up and I rolled my eyes at him.
"I will be out in a few minutes to leave." I pointed at the door and she glanced at me suspiciously.
"You don't have to fall asleep again if I leave and don't lock the door." That was my thoughts but it seems like he can already tell. "You should be out in ten minutes, Ivana, I have good intentions for you, not bad once, you can have as much rest as you wish after the show." He told me before leaving the room.
"I need the rest right now," I mumbled and walked over to the door to lock it but changed my mind. I grabbed the sweat pants he had gotten for me and took them with me to the bathroom.
It was going to be hard but I know we have to do this, I know this show was going to be great.
I did my morning run with him, got dressed and left for school with Robin.
There was practice so we both went to the practice hall together. Robin walked over to where Hinn and the others were while I sat next to Kate who had waved me over.
Henry was also there, he waved at me, but unlike the looks I have noticed before now in his eyes, it was different, well, he stopped staring at me in that lovely way after knowing I live with Robin.
Also, I have noticed Robin was calm now when I say hello to Henry, my instinct was telling me it wasn't only taking me home and finding out that I live with Robin, I felt Robin has said something to Henry, there was nothing Robin can't do to protect me from perverts, I wasn't referring to Henry as a pervert anyway.
I glanced around and couldn't find Ryan around, for once I could breathe freely without having someone pester me, but my smiles only asked for a second since he forced his way between me and Henry and I groaned while he giggled.
The director walked in with some cards in his hand as he turned to us. "This is the last week before the show, how do you all feel?"
"Exhausted." I let these words out and quickly clasped my lips not knowing I spoke the words out loud and all eyes turned at me and I felt embarrassed.
"That is odd, I thought you would be thrilled or nervous." The director said and I glanced down, biting down my lips. It seemed my tiredness was getting into my head.
It was all Robin's fault for always making me run each morning.
The director continues in his speech. "I have a few things to say today, but I would like to tell you all about your performance at the recent practices we had." He took out a file and flipped it. "Ava, Chloe and I had a meeting and this was what we got from watching you all."
The director glanced up at us. "Katherine, your balance is good, it looks like you have been practising for this all your life, you got good moves and light ways to keep your dance in place." I glanced from the corner of my eyes to see the smiles on her face.
"She is a dance machine and we all know she is so perfect in these things," Kate said softly, letting air out her lips.
The director said the others, stating their fault and what they need to improve on.
"Clara, your body should be more flexible when you do the flips, you also miss-step six and seven, I hope you put more effort to learn those moves before the main show."
"I will be the director," Clara said softly and I looked back at her. I don’t hate Clara but we barely talk and I love it that way. She looks like trouble sometimes. I was glad she made it to the show too.
"Kate, you are doing good in all aspects of this dance, bit, you should practice more on sliding and lifting yourself, that is one of the moves of this show, you wouldn't want to ruin it, do you understand?"
"Yes Director, I will put more effort." Kate lowered her gaze and I held her hand and gave it a light squeeze.
"Henry, you passed," Director told him and I smiled, he was good. "Ryan," The director looked at Ryan and turned to me without saying Ryan's and I wondered why he didn't say it but I felt Ryan was just so good that he didn't have to say it, whereas he wasn't part of this show.
"Ivana," The director looked at me and I grinned showing my white set of teeth feeling so confident since I have improved a lot through the week. "Don't smile." The director said coldly and I pressed my lips together.
"I am sorry," I said softly, lowering my gaze.
"It's true you have improved lately, at least you don't trip on others." I heard them sniffle a laugh and gnashed my teeth, of course, I was that way but I have improved now.
"You also improved in your moves, and can now lift your body. It seems you are doing more exercise and are keeping up the balance. You are doing your best but I hope you put in more effort."He told me and I glanced over at Robin who looked at me proudly with a smile.
Booster, he must be happy since he was the one helping me with the exercise, but I was grateful to him too.
Director Donald also said the performance of the other’s before putting down the shit and taking up an invite card, he lifted it.
"This show is going to be a big one and it's going to be talked about in the media. A lot of people will be attending since there are lots of people anticipating it. Still, we need more people so we would be performing an outdoor show."
I blinked in confusion and there was a happy cheer in the hall and I looked around to see the happiness on everyone's face.
"I am sure you have no idea what an outdoor show is," Ryan spoke in his usual way and I turned to him, although I didn’t want to talk to him, he seems like the person who answers my questions better.
"Why are they so excited about this?"
"You know how you attend the Hinn Carlos show at the daily bar…" I pursed my lips wondering how he knew about that since he wasn't here when I attended their show, but I knew they must have filled him in and I felt there was nothing Ryan doesn't know.
"In other words, that show I took you to watch by the fountain in the city," Kate added and my eyes dilated.
"We will be doing this to draw more people to the show, it's bothersome but also fun, just like singing and dancing on stage," Ryan explains more.
"You mean we will have to sing?"
"Yes, it would be fun Ivana, you are going to love it," Kate told me and I was also getting thrilled since I recalled how we had both danced out there that day.
"Katherine, you will be singing with Ivana, so you two will come up with an awesome song in two days." The director told us and we both groaned. "It doesn’t matter if you both can't tolerate each other, this is going to be fun." He told us before turning to Robin and his team.
"Are you all ready to do some dive in?" He told them and we all understood what he meant and they nod in response and I could see the smiles on Lurkas face.
"All performances are welcome, as long as it will bring good fruits," The director pointed at a few students including Clara. "The seven of you will be distributing the flyers."
"Why us directors?" Clara's forehead creased as she looked up at the director.
"That's because the seven of you are very pretty." He said the word and Clara grinned and we all chuckled.
"This is going to be fun don't forget about the main show on Saturday, inform your family about it too,"
He looked at all of us and smiled. "There would be no practice for three days because of this outdoor performance, so have fun, good luck everyone." He told us before leaving and then the chattering began as the talks went on about the show.
"Meet me at my practice room in thirty minutes," Katherine told me in her cold way as she walked over to me, without hearing my response she walked out and I made a fist in the air.
"Tolerate her, she is always like that," Ryan told me and I glared at him.
"Of course, birds of the same feathers understand themselves." I sighed at him and walked away with Kate, who was talking more about the show while I thought of what to do at this outdoor show.
