Chapter SEVENTY-FOUR

I couldn’t sleep all night that night because of what happened. I know it’s just repeated but I trust Jr. But even with confidence I still couldn’t avoid being unthinkable. As the wedding approached, my chest throbbed harder and harder. I think it’s just because of too much excitement. Other than that there is nothing else.

Also, I believe that only God knows what can happen so I will entrust everything to Him. Only His will can be followed and not ours.

Mama told us to be superstitious. Some obeyed and some disobeyed. Maybe it's because Jr. and I both don't believe in superstition. Over the day, Jr. and I were peaceful and his ex didn't bother him anymore. I don't know if she's planning anything but I don't care.

"The depth of what you're thinking," then Jr. hugged me from behind. I’m here in the garden while looking at mama’s plants.

“I was just looking at the flower. The others are about to bloom, ”I replied.

"I really don't think that's what I see in your face." I confronted him because of what he said.

"What do you mean?"

"If you're just thinking about the flower, why is the depth of your thinking?"

“Jr., sometimes when you look at something you laugh for no reason. So don't give me an excuse that you saw my stupidity. Where are you from, Clark said you borrowed his motorbike, did you go somewhere?” I will ask.

"Ah, yes, just talking,"

"Who?"

"My friend, I invited him to the wedding," I was surprised because he did not take the invitation from me.

"You didn't give an invitation?"

"I gave, there's extra in the house." I just nodded and I didn't carve him anymore. "Bubble tea?" he added.

"Sure,"

We walked while holding hands towards the shop.

"J, what happened to Amanda?" I suddenly asked and he stopped. "Is there a problem?" I asked when I saw the expression on his face change.

"Huh, nothing, I don't know, maybe I'm bored." He grabbed me and we started walking again. "Why did you ask?"

“Nothing, in the past she did nothing but cause trouble. She is at home almost every day to harass me, or you.” He smiled and then looked away.

"She's stopped because she knows she has nothing against you anywhere." I kicked him softly because of what he said.

"But I really feel sorry for her,"

"Don't be, because you don't know what that woman can do." I stopped walking and looked at him.

"What do you mean?"

"No, I just want to say that that woman is crazy and it won't stop until she wins. Maybe that's why it's quiet because she is planning something bad.”

"It is? Why do you say that?" I was nervous to question.

"I told you, that woman is crazy. Let's not talk about her."

He didn't say a word, I didn't speak until we got to the shop.

"How's the upcoming groom, and bride?" Marla asked us. "Do you like Taro?" she added.

"Yes, thank you," Jr. replied.

"Mia, are you excited?" she asked me while brewing.

"Shh," I said then sniffed to point to Jr.

"Are you ashamed to admit it?"

"Of course not,"

"Oh, that's it, but are you excited?"

"Yes," she smiled and then handed me the two mugs.

"Or maybe you're more excited when your cherry pops?"

"Hey, you're rude," I rebuked weakly.

"That's thrilling,"

"Stop it,” I immediately hit her and then left and went to Jr.'s seat.

"You're blushing, why?" he asked me.

"Ah, it's hot," I replied. "Well, my gown is already made, you can get it a day before the wedding."

"Ok, just give me the address." I looked at Marla and saw her teasing smile that made my cheeks even hotter.

I AM LOOKING FORWARD to Jr now because now is the day he's getting the gown. The wedding is also tomorrow.

"Mia, Jr is here with the wedding gown!" Janel shouted. I quickly ran downstairs to meet Jr.

"Is that it?" I asked Jr. with a box.

"Yes, it's too heavy. I think this is hot to wear, is this ok with you?" he asked as we walked upstairs.

"Yeah, it's cold in the church,"

The three of us entered the room then Jr. took off the gown and laid it on the bed.

"Wow!" Janel and I said.

"Nice Mia." Then she touched the gown. "Nice for you."

"Really?" I will ask.

"Yes Mia,"

"Wait, I'll just measure so I know if it's right for me."

"NO!" Janel shouted.

"Why?"

"That's bad, isn't it superstitious not to measure the wedding dress because it might not go on." Jr. and I laughed.

“Janel, if superstition is not written in the word of God. Don't just believe,” said Jr. then approached me and hugged me.

"But Jr, there's nothing wrong with believing, it's better to be careful."

"You said so." Once again we said Jr.

"Then, isn't it, mama said don't come here because the wedding is tomorrow?"

Jr. and I looked at each other.

“What are you, Janel, don’t be too nervous there,” I said.

"Jr, what are you doing here?" Mama was obviously surprised that Jr. was here.

"Ah I just brought Mia's clothes," Jr. replied while scratching his own head.

"Didn't I tell you that you can't meet before the wedding? Why are you so tough?”

"Ma, nothing will happen, we're just here at home," I said.

“Yes, ma, the stubbornness of the two of them. Mia wants to measure her clothes,” Janel complained.

"Mia," Mom scolded.

"How do I know if it fits, what if it's too tight because I've gained weight, I can't breathe in the tightness,"

"Mia, the seamstress is put extra, can you stop arguing." I didn't even answer what mama said because she looked angry.

“Oh no! You two, your tendency to believe in those superstitions,” Dad whispered. "It's a good thing Mia doesn't believe in the sayings 'isn't it Mia?'"

"Yes, I really want to measure the gown," I said while holding the gown.

"Not allowed!" mama and Janel shouted at the same time.

"Ok!" I removed my hand from the gown. Janel took the gown. "What are you going to do?" I ask.

"I'll put it in my room, I know you Mia and I know what's running on your mind." Carrying a gown at the same time. "And you Jr. go home because you are not allowed to meet," she added.

Mom and Dad laughed because of what Janel did. Because she actually brings a gown.

"All right Jr., and maybe your mom will hit you," teased papa.

"Let's not argue anymore, I'll bring you downstairs,"

“Mia,”

"Mom, I am just outside. We won't do anything."
