THE DAY of the wedding, I was in the car outside the church with Janel, mama, and papa. It's only a matter of time before Jr. and I are completely married.
"Mia are you okay?" Janel asked me.
"I'm nervous," I said.
"You're just excited, it's ok Mia." Maybe that's just the way it is. "Is that Dylan?" she added.
I turned around and saw Dylan walking closer to the car.
"Beautiful bride ah!" he greeted me.
"Dylan, I think you will not come?"
"I didn't go, your soon-to-be husband forced me to come."
"What, why?"
“Man talk, by the way, you're too beautiful now.”
"I'm beautiful a long time ago,"
"I know right," he said. "Are you okay?" he asked me
"Jr. isn't here yet." He looked around. I was even more nervous because I couldn't really find Jr.
"Don't worry then, for sure he will come."
"There he is." I turned around and saw Jr. get out of the car. I smiled because he was handsome in his white tuxedo and white slacks.
"Worried free?" Dylan took my hand. "I'm going to church, congrats."
"Thank you,"
Janel invited me to come down because the entourage had already started. I can’t explain how I felt while waiting. Janel is my maid of honor so she went inside first.
The church door opened.
The song Love to be loved by you by Marc Terenzi played as I walked down the aisle full of excitement, fun, fear, and various emotions. From where I stood, I could see Jr. smiling waiting for me. I also see mama, papa, Janel, and even Klein.
I couldn’t help but feel nervous. I feel real fun at these times. Our memories flash as if it's happened yesterday, the fun, pain, and complicated like it just happened yesterday.
Everything that happened to Jr. and me is still clear in my mind and to think that I cried even more because we went through it all. Now we are facing a new phase of our lives as a couple.
Throughout the mass, Jr. and I were thinking about the past.
I am thankful to God because we overcame all the trials that Jr. and I and my family came through we overcame.
I also apologize because once in my life I was reprimanded and I hurt my family and Jr.
Now I am asking for guidance that hopefully no matter what happens we can still get through and He will guide me as I enter the new phase of my life.
I have already prepared myself for the wedding vows. Jr. came first as he was the man.
“Mia, the trials that may come to us do not end with this marriage. But I want to tell you that no matter what happens I will stay by your side. I want to thank you because despite everything that happened you chose to be with me until the very end. I'm happy because I made you happy according to what we both want. Mia, I love you so much and will continue to love you, here, until the next life.”
“Jr, thank you for staying by my side. I haven't told you everything I want to say, I'm not an expressive girlfriend and now I'm going to be your wife. I still want to know that I am happy because you are the first man I loved and I will be with you until the very end. Thank you for coming into my life to complete me. I love you, and I promise that no matter what happens, I will stay with you until the end.”
It may be short for others, but for us, that is enough for us to convey to each other and to the witnesses today that no matter what happens Jr. and I will still lean on each other.
"You may now kiss the bride."
Jr. kissed me in front of many, this was probably the sweetest kiss we have ever had, maybe because it was our first kiss as a couple.
After the pictorial Jr. and I walked out of the church. People around us greeted us.
"Are you happy?" Jr. whispered to me.
"Very much," I replied.
"I love you." He tightened his grip on my hand. When Dylan came. The two men shook hands, both smiling.
"Thanks for coming 'bro, I feel relieved." I couldn’t understand what Jr. said, even Dylan I knew was confused.
"Congratulations." All attention was focused on the woman outside the church.
Amanda----she's wearing a black gown and carrying a large black bouquet as well.
I felt nervous when I saw how she looked. I can't explain why. She was even veiled in black. I looked at Jr. but was not even surprised when she arrived.
"You really chose to be with that woman, despite my warning to you?"
Jr. just smiled at him and stood in front of me.
"Do what makes you happy Amanda, but it wasn't your threat that stopped my marriage."
Everyone was surprised at what happened next because the flower that Amanda had brought had a gun. The guests shouted and others ran when they saw Amanda point the gun at Jr.
"Jr.," I whispered, now trembling with fear.
“Is that so? if only you wouldn't be mine. It's even better if you don't become her either.”
"Amanda, please stop," I said crying because I was really nervous.
"I will not stop!" After she said that, we heard three gunshots in a row, everyone was shouting and someone was crying.
Soon Jr. slowly fell into my arms. papa ran quickly to support Jr. and me. Dylan in turn and grabbed Amanda.
"Jr.," I said crying while holding his chest with flowing blood. "Help!"
