Special ability…
Axel have never heard of that. All his life, he believed their existence itself was already special. They were a powerful race who could transform, and had a strength that could compare to that of the beastmen. They were wilder than the wildest that even a Lion, who were considered the king of the forest, would bow before them.
“Special ability…” Axel repeated in a low tone, almost a whisper. “I have not heard of that before, Efraim.”
None of them had. Except of course, Efraim, who was the leader of an ingenious pack.
“Is this special ability you speak of, already proven?” One of the Council, Ernesto, asked. “I have lived for decades, Efraim. We, the Western Border elders are half the age of the oldest wolves in this world. But never in my existence, had I heard of that special ability you just mentioned.”
“No one except the Wesleyeian wolves hold the truth about our history. The special ability I specified is but a secret information that has been passed down to generation.” Efraim disclosed.
It was not a surprise that none of them had ever heard it, as it was a highly classified secret, kept within their bloodline. It was to keep every pack from trampling each other’s lives. Efraim’s ancestors knew there would be a time where wolves would be greedy for power, and some would even dare to think of conquering the world. So, they made sure to keep the special ability that resides in every wolf’s core, to avoid the bloodshed.
But now, using it was inevitable. Especially when their enemies were supported by the alchemy of humans.
“Is that a record, divulged by the Goddess herself?” Rogelio asked. “Efraim, if we are to use the forbidden special ability, the Godess will not overlook it.”
If it had been passed down to generation, that must have meant it was important. And if it was important, to the point that it was kept away from the wolves who would later on utilize it to kill another, then Efraim might be doing the wrong thing by disclosing such salient information.
At this point, if they will fight trickery by using what was forbidden, they would also be punished.
“The Goddess had entrusted this important information to us, Rogelio. She does not forbid it. But only wanted to keep it.” Efraim explained. “And I believe my decision to use the special ability to eradicate those who have forgotten the natural laws is forgivable.”
Whilst it was indeed an important information, it was not forbidden. Efraim was sure their ancestors did not pass it down for it to be kept hidden even in this tough situation. He was certain that the past leaders did not burn the historical record so it could be used at the time the tribe will need it.
“If what you said is true, Efraim. Then, present us the book. Take my men with you, and go back to the mountain. We shall obtain the hidden prowess long kept from us and used it to its extent.” Axel made the word.
The three of them had no idea how much of August’s army had already been injected with the drug. Thus, they had to think of the worst case scenario. To counter it, Axel made a decision to go all out. But since they were up against an army supported by the black magic of humans, they can not ignore what Efraim said about the wolves’ special ability.
Especially, when it could boost their win rate.
The discussion continued. After Axel told Efraim to present them the bok, they moved on to the weapons they will be using. Axel then asked Edward for another favor, to gather explosions they could use to the actual battlefield. The more lethal, the better. Axel also asked for Edward to get a truck of poison gas.
They needed to think of any fatal weapon that could kill August’s wolves. And those two things mentioned top the list. Would they be immute to gas? Or would they be vulnerable in it?
After the three of them were set on another tough work, the dicussion ended. Axel went back to his den, and called for Hansel to gather all his Beta. He gave Hansel the order to announced what Axel planned to do. An all out war.
But it wasn’t just his Beta participating, but his original right hand as well.
Hugo, whom Axel asked to find information about the wolves’ origin were coming back. Not just him but the group Axel chose to come with him.
Axel would no longer need them to find solution to his question, as he already had Efraim. And most importantly, they had to be here. Because their presence would make a significant changes to the war.

“My Lady, how are you feeling?”
Flora sat on the royalty bed. Her hands scraped the blanket to make sure it would give comfort and warmth to her grace. They were now home, since an hour ago. Flora immediately made a soup to make her grace feel better. But when she came back to the lair to deliver the food, she saw Sophie in an awful state.
Her naturally reddish lips was pale. It was dry, that you could see its skin cracking. The under of her eyes were engrossed with brown eye bags. It brought a visible changes in Sophie’s face.
It only had been an hour. Flora deeply inhaled and held Sophie’s hand with care. She was only about to tell her about the soup, when Sophie half-opened her eyes to look at her.
“Flora…” Sophie tried to call Flora’s name. “Water…”
Sophie’s voice was weak. She could barely utter Flora’s name, and it added to Flora’s jitters. A little shaking, Flora moved to get her grace a glass of water. Agitation mixed in her movement that even Sophie could see it with her squinted eyes.
There was no doubt about it. Sophie was sick. And it was because of her idea! Flora swallowed hard as she glanced at her grace before placing back the steel hummered jug pitcher to the wooden table beside the bed.
“Flora…” Sophie called for her once again.
“Y-yes, My Lady. Here’s the water….”
Before Flora gave her grace the water she asked for, she placed it on the tray to assist Sophie. Flora then added another pillow on her grace’s back to make her feel comfortable, but before she could even moved out of the bed, she noticed how Sophie covered her mouth as her back arched. Flora’s eyes widened. Her grace was about to throw up!
