Leaning down, Rebecca slowly scraped Axel’s shoulders. Slipping her fingers from the top of his chest, downward. She wore Axel’s favorite perfume of her just for this very moment.
“I’m about to deliver my baby with Edward…” Rebecca’s whispered on his ear. “If you’d like, I can become your concubine. Be with me again, and I shall conceive your baby.”
“We never see each other eye to eye, Rebecca.”
Axel’s speculation’s was right. Rebecca was here because she opt to continue her scheme. But holding back his exasperation was worth it, now that he could see the whole panorama, thanks to Rebecca’s carelessness.
Rebecca and her useless ploy was to win him over. Her decision to come here. The provocation. Now, the attempt to seduce him. A disgusted smirk curved in Axel’s lips as he inwardly realized the sequence of her steps. He removed Rebecca’s filthy hands off her, before he looked over his shoulder to meet her confused gaze.
Although this was initially Axel’s objective; to make Rebecca regret her decision. The table had completely turned. His feelings for her were now gone. He had already detached from their memories. And if anything, the only emotions Rebecca can make him feel were negative ones. Disgustment. Dismay. Annoyance. He didn’t even know what made him love her before.
She was rotten. Inside and out.
Axel slightly pushed the chair, and stood up. She faced Rebecca, who looked perplexed with his unexpected behavior towards her lousy allurement.
Did she really think she’d get him with that?
“W-what do you mean? Isn’t that what you want? To have a baby? I have proven myself useful, Axel. I can bear your child.” Desperation was evident in Rebecca’s voice.
“Didn’t I tell you not to push through with your petty scheme?” Axel gave Rebecca an appalled look. He wanted to break her pride, as well as her hope of getting him back together. “I warned you, twice. Do you not really care about that child inside your womb?”
Rebecca’s heart pummeled. “What are you trying to say?”
“Why did you think I’m building a good connection with Efraim?” Axel gave Rebecca a quest. “Why did you think I supported him, when I have always been wary of the other Alpha?”
It was untruth. What Axel was trying to say was completely different to his reasons. However, he indeed considered asking Efraim about a way to remove an unborn child from its mother’s womb. He was planning to, before. But things had turn more serious that he couldn’t deal with Rebecca’s deviousness.
At least. Not just yet.
“You’re planning to use Efraim to hurt my baby?” Rebecca’s eyes widened. “I will tell Edward!”
“Go on, Rebecca. Tell your damn Alpha about what I said. But then he’d also have to know why you’re here, and why I said that….” Axel provoked the scared Lycan even more. “Would that be okay with you?”
But those weren’t the only thing Axel can reveal. He can also exposed how Rebecca seduced one of the Elders to make them dethrone Sophie. Did she think he will not know?
Ernesto had always been loyal to him. Whilst he was always with the other Elders. His loyalty was only for him. Not for Rogelio, and definitely not for Rodolfo.
It was the same reason Ernesto had accepted Rebecca, despite his animosity towards her.
“Not only you’ve become wary towards me. You also managed to remove your feelings for me..” Rebecca’s eyes reflected anger. “Is this because of Sophie? Did she bewitch you?”
“Bewitch? I suggest you stop being delusional, Rebecca.” Axel shook his head. “Sophie didn’t do anything. Because unlike you, she’s genuine. She didn’t need to use her beauty to get things her way.”
“Let’s see, then…” Rebecca tried to put up a tough look. “Would the pack still accept her if they find out she’s an omega?”
Not only Axel had successfully pulled out Rebecca’s plan, he also managed to provoked and broke her pride. Now, it left her nothing but desparation.
“You may do as you please…” Axel took a step, closing the gap. “But you’re gonna have to look out, Rebecca. Because I will come for you. The moment the war ends, I will give you the attention you want, and make you suffer.”
The first one he said was a bluff. This wasn’t.
Rebecca had greatly proved that she won’t stop. He tried to stop her twice, and it didn’t work. She even had the guts to show herself before him, and offer a cheap deal. If this continue, Sophie might misunderstood it again. So, after the war, he will put an end to this.
If he could, he will even make a way to get Rebecca out of the Kingdom. He was ready to pull strings just to make sure her wicked plan will bud nothing but failure.
Axel didn’t leave her eyes even for a second. She watched how desparation in her face faltered. Rebecca’s eyes became a pool of dread. She looked tear down.
Rebecca breathed hard. She avoided her eyes, as she feared the attention he spoke of. It terrified her. Thereform, she pushed Axel’s shoulder with her shaking hand. She exited herself with her weakened knees, leaving Axel’s den with shattered hope.
Axel breathed hard. He took a glance on the clock hanged on the wall, before he pulled the chair to sit and went back to what he was doing.
Finishing the job he left when he was interrupted took him fifteen minutes. Afterwards, he went home. Only to found out Sophie was sick.
“Did you contact a physician?” Axel’s brows furrowed in concern.
“Yes, kind Sir.” Mary bowed to him. “Flora just left with the warden.”
Axel returned his eyes to his Luna, who was lying in the bed. He was a meters away from her, but he could clearly see how ill she was. She looked pale, and feeble!
“Did she even eat?”
“Yes, kind Sir.” The servant responded. “But there is something I need to report.”
“Report?”
“A woman claiming herself to be Teresa came here not long before you arrive, kind Sir.” The servant relayed. “She asked me to tell you about the vision she had long ago.”
“What vision, Mary?”
“The child you have been wanting for, kind Sir. Teresa claimed Ms. Sophie is pregnant with your child.”
