Chapter 78

Mr. Roce ran some tests to Sophie. He also examined her blood, using his high-tech equipment from the Northern Border. He was careful through out the whole procedure. Although he had already arrived on a conclusion, he needed a proof to confirm it. He have to make sure, to win the Alpha’s trust.

He was lucky.

Not long after the Alpha’s servant, Flora, came trotting on his doorstep, he was visited by Teresa. Teresa told him the Alpha would be needing his help, and that it would give him fortune. He knew Teresa’s visions had always been clear and precise. Thus, he believed her and waited.

Had he not listen, the opportunity that was to come will be handed over to someone else’s. So he felt beyond blessed to be here today, inside the Alpha and his Luna’s lair.

Whilst Mr. Roce was busy with his job, the Alpha went out for a moment. He excused himself but allowed Flora in, to have anyone watch. Mr. Roce told him it was going to take for an hour. As he cannot wait any longer, the Alpha desired to summon Teresa.

Teresa was a blind woman known for her precise vision. Not once it failed or betrayed Teresa, for it always came true. Which is why the Alpha was agitating to know the truth.

He was now ready to set aside his hostility towards Teresa. She may have been unlikable, and hideous, but the information she held was extremely important. Especially her prediction.

Axel went out the Palace’s entrance door before he turned to his wolf form to follow Teresa’s scent. His arms and feet grew larger in a fraction of seconds. His eyes turned deep caramel. This form would be more convenient to him. The abilitities he possessed would be more hightened, and he could easily find Teresa.

Axel lifted his head to have more acccess in locating the blind woman’s standpoint. Snarling, his canines flashed before the moon. He continued whiffing, turning his head to wherever the disorganized scent where coming from.

He could smell different kinds of essence. A mud. Food. A particular scent of a male wolf…

Axel used his monstrous limbs to jump higher out of the wrought iron. He had found it. Axel headed towards west. In the forest. Where Teresa’s scent was coming from. He ran and made full use of his abilities. It was becoming strong, each step he jumped to get nearer.

Axel did not stop with his long and fast steps. Not until he could completely spot Teresa. He continued with his dash, and feared nothing as he ran in the dark dominated forest. There was nothing in his mind but his prime objective to reach the old woman’s location. He went even faster than a peregrine falcon in the skyline.

And it wasn’t so surprising when he smelled a group of wolves on his back.

The pack who lived nearby would surely sense it. But he ignored it for the meantime as he was just rushing to meet the seer woman.

At long last, after the track, Teresa’s scent finally smelled like it was only a mile away. Axel’s fast intense steps subsided. He was certain Teresa was here. He could clearly smell his unpleasant odor.

“Show yourself, Teresa!” Axel growled. “I know you’re here!”

Axel turned around to watch the tall trees closely. Right now, he was an in an open space. He did not know if Teresa intended to lure him here, or this was purely coincidence, but he felt wary of what was to come.

Afterall, he wouldn’t have chased after her had he not desire to know the truth.

“What more do you need from me, Alpha?” Teresa’s distant voice echoed in the area.

“I wish to speak to you, Teresa..” Axel’s voice turned serious. “Tell me. Is Sophie really pregnant with my child?”

Teresa let out an amused chuckle. Still, she remained unseen, lurking behind the trees and darkness. “A physician is already in your home. Do you trust my words more than him?”

What impudence. Axel thought as he continuously glazed over the large trees. Teresa’s voice sounded far, yet he was sure the scent was here. It wasn’t leaving. Teresa’s strong odor was staying here, and it was what was forcing him to stay stilled.

“Answer me, Teresa…”

“Yes…” Teresa finally gave him the answer he sought for. “But you need to take care, Alpha. Whilst I can guarantee that your Luna is pregnant. I can not assure he’s going to live, especially when you found yourself a devious enemy.”

A threat.

It was a clear threat. But nevertheless, he heard what he wanted to hear. Sophie was pregnant. Now, he can rest assured. Sophie was not sick. She was only showing early symptoms of pregnancy.

The Alpha lower down his head as he felt overjoyed with what the seer told him. He felt his heart pummeled. A child. After long years of wanting an heir, finally, his only wash was granted!

The Alpha was too distracted by what Teresa told him, that he didn’t realize her scent was already fading. The other wolves, however, who was finally running after him, finally managed to caught up.

“Alpha…” His beta greeted him in unison. “We were worried when we sensed you transmute. Is there any problem?”

Axel, with his furry and larged body, turned around to see his men with such delighted occupying his pair of caramel eyes. It was recognizable, that his beta were a little astounded.

“Sophie is pregnant…” The Alpha lowly howled. “At long last. The pack will soon have an heir.”

With the unexpected and surprising news, the Alpha went back to his Palace. He allowed the betas who followed him in the forest inside. He transformed back to his human form, and changed clothes, before he went up straight to their shared lair, to find Mr. Roce, who was already sitting.

And upon his presence, the physician and the servant, stood up to greet him. It was with a smile due to the glad tidings. A blessing.

An heir.

“Alpha…” The physician vowed his head. “I have a good news to tell…”

“Sophie’s pregnant, isn’t she?” The Alpha walked straight towards his still fragile Luna.

The servant and the physician glanced at each other in surprise.

“So it seemed you already knew,” said the physician, Mr. Roce.

“Forgive me, Mr. Roce. I was impatient. I needed to speak to Teresa to confirm it. But worry not. Since I do not plan to taking back my word. I will grant you a reward…”

Mr. Roce, who had been looking forward to the kind of reward the Alpha would grant him, nodded. “Thank you, Alpha.”

“Flora.” Axel called the servant. “Escort the physician out and tell Mary to prepare a feast. I shall celebrate with him tonight together with the Betas on the great hall.”
