Chapter 105

CHAPTER 105

MONTANA'S POV

I gasped in disbelief, my eyes widening as I stared at the unexpected figure standing right in front of me. How did he even find me?

"What are you doing here?", I blurted out, my voice trembling with a mixture of disbelief and confusion, "Did you come to save me? Is Lincoln here?", I added, a glimmer of hope flickering in my eyes.

But he just stayed quiet, not saying anything or answering any of my questions.

As I awaited his response, my mind raced, I had different things pieced together in my mind, but I was trying hard not to think like that.

"Sean, come on help me escape, quickly", I urged him, going to meet him, "I do not know how you got here, but we do not have much time."

"I am not here to save you Montana," Sean said with no emotion in his voice, "Just here to have a little discussion with you?"

"What do you mean?", Fear gripped my heart as the reality started coming, "We can talk later when we- oh."

I paused as the betrayal sank in. Anger is simmering and fueling inside me.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, telling myself whatever was going on now was not real, "We do not have much time, help me escape, there has been some kind of spell on that door and I need your help, Sean."

I finally opened my eyes, still the cold face he kept, and still no response from him.

"How could you?", I asked him. It came out as a whisper. This just crushed my spirit, my voice was thick with hurt and betrayal.

I took a step backwards and shook my head in disbelief, "How could you do this? Why would you betray us like this?"

My anger started rising more than before as I confronted him, "You were supposed to be his best friend. How could you do this to that, to him? How could you betray me?", I raised my voice at him.

"Do not yell at me," he shouted back, shocking me.

As the truth sunk in, and it was confirmed that he had indeed betrayed us, the people he called family with his actions, my hand trembled with rage.

Without thinking, I lashed out, walked up to him again and the sound of my palm connecting with his cheek echoed in the room, "How dare you? You still have the audacity to raise your voice at me??"

My eyes were blazed with fiery, flashing with a mix of fury, hurt and betrayal, "Have you no shame? You of all people Sean, How???!!!"

I watched as Sean recoiled in surprise as my hand made contacts with his cheek. The sting from the slap should have jolted him out of his shock.

There was silence, and soon he looked at me, his eyes widened. I watched as a flush of anger rose to his cheeks, his jaw tensing as he struggled to contain his fury.

I, on the other hand, kept a strong face. I was not going to let him talk down on me and raised his shoulder up to me, just to make me feel beneath him.

"No, how dare you?", he directed my question back to me as he hissed through gritted teeth, his voice low and dangerous with rage. But I felt like he was holding back even though he was outraged, "You have no right to lay your hands on me."

Sean's tone grew more menacing as he stepped closer, his eyes narrowing with a cold intensity.

I do not care if he was family, I would beat him up if that is what happened.

"You think you can slap me and get away with it? You have no idea what you have done," he warned, "I wanted to make this easier for you, but I guess you need to be reminded of your place", his voice dripping with malice.

I snarled at him.

"I demand respect", he asserted as his voice rose, showing me that he has authority, "Do not make me, make you regret raising your hands on me."

"Why?", My voice cracked a bit as I asked him, "Why are you doing all this? Even if you do not consider my feelings, what about Lincoln's feelings? His family feelings? Did you think about all that?"

Luke still has a frown on his face, "What about them? Don't be so dramatic."

"Why Sean? Why? What would make you do this to people that care and love you?"

"I am sick and tired of being in Lincoln's shadows," He said furiously, "I am his best friend, but he treats me like I am less, he treats me like I am not his equal or up to his level."

I stared at Luke intensely, "You of all pee should know that Lincoln is not like that," I stated, "And even though you both are not equal or his higher than you in rank and everything else, he does not treat you like you are less, he takes you as a brother, someone he can trust."

"Stop this madness, Sean. When did this even start?", I said strongly to him but hey softly, "This is not you."

"This is definitely me," Sean said, "Luke's plan will bring me out of Lincoln's shadow for good. I want to be my own boss, I want my name to be heard and feared too, even more than Lincoln, I aim to be heard."

"And what? Joining forces with Luke, is supposed to get you there?", I spat at Sean in disgust. How could he even say all these about Lincoln?

"Yes it will and must. Maybe for once, when people hear my name, they will know who I am because I am something important", Sean uttered, "But you will never understand that."

Even after all these, I still tried to reason with him.

"Just let me go Sean, please, you still have lots of time to fix this," I said to him, hoping the Sean I knew would be back.

Sean looked at me, he was expressionless, like a statue carved from stone, "I only came to give you advice."

"Which is?"
