Chapter 108

CHAPTER 108

MONTANA'S POV

A week.

A full whole week since I have been here. Luke made sure to let me know every time how long I have been here.

He just wanted to fuel my anger more and get a reaction from him, but sorry for him, he got no reaction.

Although I kept wondering why I am just being locked up in this room, fed three times a day and good meals.

I am starting to feel like they are feeding me to get me fat so that they could kill me that way or something like that, because it just does not make any sense.

Anytime I asked what they want from me or rather what he wants from me, that is Luke.

He is like I have told you before.

Yeah, you have, but why is nothing happening? I am not saying I want anything to happen, but at least what is going on.

It was so annoying, the same thing every day, especially when it was not my wish.

"Word just got in that your mate is getting destructive or should I say in a bit of a soured mood," Luke said as he barged into my room without even knocking.

"Lukeee", I called out his name as my heart leapt into my throat, "Were you not taught how to knock?"

I asked him, quickly arranging my towel.

"Did you hear what I just said?", he asked, ignoring what I had just said and asked him.

"Leave, I need to get dressed," I said to him.

"I have seen everything before, so what are you hiding?", He asked me.

I felt so disgusted, "Leave Luke, you do not have to be disgusting to prove a point."

He backed away with a smirk on his face and said, "If you would have me, Montana, I will have you too."

Someone that already has a mate, "That would be over my dead body, Luke. You wish for things that will never come true. Does Lola even know you are here, doing this?"

"Is that what you fear? People finding out you made out with your ex?", He asked, finding it amusing.

"You are the definition of pity… Go out the same way you came in."

“I will, but not because you are telling me too, but because I know you are shy and would blush after I leave," he said as he turned and left.

"Yeah, right," I said sarcastically, rolling my eyes in a very hard and slow way as I also hissed.

Goddess, he irritates me so much. I can literally not stand him, his presence, his air, like I can not just stand it!

It is bad enough I am locked up here, and now I have to see his face every day. Just comes and spoils my whole day and the whole vibe and everything.

I shuddered in disgust, a chill running down my spine as I remembered the revolting sight that seemed to be always before me.

He is just one of the mistakes in my life.

ALPHA LINCOLN'S POV

I entered the room where the top Alpha's were seated, some attending this meeting via video call. There was tension and anticipation in the air.

I strolled in confidently, but with an underlying sense of urgency as I asked, "Any news?", immediately addressing the reason for this meeting.

By the way, Luke was not here. My number one suspect was not certain about the others but as for him, I will keep him to one side for now and his family and pack already committed a crime with wiping out Montana's family which is a big punishment which will be helpful later.

I watched the Alpha's exchange uneasy glances, shaking their head and indicating that they had no news to report.

I did respect them, but this was not what I wanted to hear. How can-

I took a deep breath.

But as the silence stretched on, my patience wearing thin, and I cleaned my fist, it already started trembling at my sides, a low growl rumbling in the back of my throat.

I took my seat at the head of the table as my jaw tightened, my teeth grinding together with a force that threatened to splinter bones.

I lost it as, with a roar of pent-up anger and frustration, I slammed my fist down onto the table with a loud thud. The impact made everywhere in the room more tense as the silence was louder than ever.

My veins bulge at my temples, my chest heaving. One week and we were still behind. Even though one thing had been achieved.

"Why?", I demanded, "Why has there not been anything? Let me see what you all have, tell me something, anything, just give me answers."

As they told me everything they knew even though they did not lead to anything, I still listened, my anger not subsiding one bit.

Most of the time I would interrupt them, demanding different answers because I am so impatient.

Finally, I decided and some information was shared before I ended the meeting. I got up as everyone did too and gave a short bow, before I left.

"Where is he?", I asked one of my warriors as soon as I got to my pack, removing my suit and handing it over to him.

"He is in the torture room", My warrior informed me, taking the suit and following me closely behind.

Two warriors were guarding this torture room where one of the people who joined in kidnapping Montana was tied up to a chair.

I folded my sleeves as the warriors on guard opened the iron door for me and I walked in.

I had given instructions not to beat him up, just knock him out and bring him untouched and unharmed.

"What is your name?", I asked immediately as I got in, standing right in front of the man.

"Josh," he answered, and I could hear his heart rate. It was so freaking fast. Good.

Fear me!

I walked close to him, pulled his face by his chin, examined it and released his face, but I am sure he did not have an opportunity to process what would happen next.

I used my claws and slapped his face, making a big cut with my five fingers. Josh, our new friend screamed in pain, his eyes as if they were bulging out.

"Now Josh, you will be a good boy and tell me everything you know about my mate's disappearance!"
