CHAPTER 148
AUTHOR'S POV
"I want to see how red you are," Alexander said, but the way he said it sounded so sexy that Zendaya had to bite her lips and hummed.
She was a werewolf, these things happen, even if she is just seventeen, but she is turning eighteen and is totally normal for her to meet and be with her mate.
"Fine, you better don't tease me more. I bet you are even blushing more than me," she said to him as she agreed, and they switched to video call.
"Hey!", he said and Zendaya just looked away shyly while blushing.
"Hi," she said softly.
"Have I told you how cute you are?", Alexander asked her, a smile lingering on his lips. There was just this way he looked at her, adored her, paid attention to her and what she said.
"As a matter of fact, yes mister, you have," Zendaya answered a bit more confidently than before.
"You are cute," He said it again, enjoying her reaction, the way her eyes lit up softly, and she smiled. He just loved the way he could make her feel and the way she could make him feel.
"You are such a tease", Zendaya chuckled.
"So any plans for today?", Alexander brought up, "would have loved for us to meet but seeing the situation we can't."
"Hmm", Zendaya thought, "I don't have many plans for today, just indoors, will probably do little stuff, like some work, read some books, rest and etc., as the spirit leads and as for us, maybe at noon time we could call on video calls and play some games."
"That is nice, same as me, I do not have much to do today," Alexander said, "And as for the video call and game at noon, I am down, don't forget some food too, we can play and enjoy the game online, games like, never have I ever or truth or dare, there are lots we can pick from."
Zendaya nodded, "Sounds like a plan."
They talked some more before Alexander had to go help his dad with something, "I have to go now, we will see each other later at noon okay?"
"Okay sure, I also have to go, breakfast has been served," Zendaya said to him as they set a time for their video call and bid themselves goodbye, not without a little flirting and wink from Alexander's end.
Zendaya did the usual and headed downstairs, although her smile was wiped off when she saw her family in the dining room for breakfast. She had been angry with all of them since that day and was not intending to quench whatever anger she had, she will also keep this attitude until she is satisfied or wants to stop.
"Good morning," she said dully, averting all gazes as she took her seat in the dining. It has been like this for a while, her not talking much and just keeping to herself.
At first, they didn't try to push it, thinking it will just pass, and she will go back to her usual self, but as days passed, and they noticed that she was still the same, they started trying to engage her in conversations and all that, just like they would do now, "Did you sleep well princess?", Lincoln asked his daughter, as he monitored her.
He knew she was upset with him, but for him, it was for her own good and this one, she was hiding things and being suspicious, they just wanted to be there for her and not do anything irrational or make silly mistakes that might put her in danger.
Zendaya only nodded her head to her father's question and took what she wanted to eat.
"So, do you have any plans for today? There is no training today", Montana brought up, but Zendaya did not answer, she was not sure if the question was for her or not but deep down she knew it was for her.
"Zendaya?", Montana called out to her.
She finally raised her head from her plate, "Yes, Mum?"
"Did you not hear me sweetie?", Montana asked, she did not like seeing her daughter like this, maybe there was something she could do to lighten her mood, "We could do some things in the pack, spend time together, just like we always do."
"I am fine, thanks, I will be in my room all day, that's my plan," Zendaya answered a bit coldly and went back to eating.
Montana sighed.
They were halfway done with breakfast when Lincoln brought up another topic, "You could spend some time with your brother, you know."
The eye roll Zendaya did was enough for her eyes to even fall out, that was definitely a no idea, she was mad at Zane more than all of them at that table if they did not know. They should not even bring up anything about him.
"Yes, we could go out actually, spend some time together, anywhere you like", Zane took over from his father, "I also asked dad, and he has allowed you to leave the pack with me," he told Zendaya while looking at her and smiling softly, hoping she would accept.
Zendaya let out a breath, "Since I cannot enjoy breakfast anymore, I think I should head back to my room," she said while looking at Zane coldly, getting up, "Please, excuse me, I'm done," she said to her politely to everyone at the table, as she turned to leave, her food still not finished.
She would just have to get some snacks and fruits later, they just made her lose her appetite.
Zane quickly went after his sister, this was the first time she had gotten this upset at him to the point that she did not even speak to him, and it hurt him, his pride aside, it hurt him really bad, he did not want them to argue anymore, "I'm sorry sis, please, let me make it up to you, I'm deeply sorry", he stopped her and pleaded sincerely.
"Just leave me alone, Zane," Zendaya said to him angrily as she moved to the other side to leave, but Zane blocked her view.
"I don't like when you are upset with me, I'm sorry, I just was petrified and you're hiding things from me, hurts, I want you to be able to tell me things as your brother, as your twin, I didn't do it to hurt you I swear."
"But you did, Zane, you hurt me," Zendaya said, her voice cracking. She did not want to be upset with him either, but what he did really pained her. And she was going to tell him about Alexander too, what he did just scared her more, she was already finding it difficult to talk about it, and then he had to just do that.
"My intentions were pure, please, your brother is pleading with you," He said too sweetly and maybe that might have worked, but Zendaya looked away, she knew she had cracked but still wanted to be stubborn.
Zane still pushed on, "What do you say? Why don't we hang out today? As an apology…hm?? Sis, come on!"
Lord Lincoln, Lady Montana and Lincoln's parents, kept quiet and just watched the twins resolve their issue. The twins were arguing, one begging the order and them, they just found it cute on how inseparable that can be.
Zane was not much of a pleader, this was actually a rare thing even though Zendaya knew he deeply cares and loves her, she was still upset but then accepted, "Fine!"
Zane ruffled her hair, earning a glare from her.
They finally left the house together and in a week, this was the first time Zendaya had stepped foot outside. Of course, they had fun, her brother took her to different places he knew she would love, and she also suggested they go somewhere he would love or they both love.
With no time, she accepted his apology fully and forgave him. She was also happy she stood her ground.
She remembered that she had a plan with Alexander, and it was almost but she and Zane were still outside, so she decided to do something she did not think she would do so soon, "Zane I want to tell you something."
"Sure, what's that?", he asked, giving her all his attention
"I found my mate", she finally told him, "He was the one, I was meeting all along, I was scared to tell anyone and that was why I kept it a secret."
"Scared? Why? We will all be delighted to meet your mate. Who is he? What pack is he from?", Zane asked quickly.
