Veronica was speechless. She finally understood why the Alpha King seemed desperate to get Jaxon. It was because of his influence to other Alphas around the world. Jaxon was respected by the other Alpha because of his cleverness to handle the pack. He was a warrior who would do everything to win against to his enemies.
What Jaxon had been doing made the Alpha King felt scared that Jaxon might steal the throne in his hands.
“What will happen if Jaxon decided to get the throne from him?” She couldn't stop herself from asking. She wanted to know the possibility once the Alpha King grabbed the opportunity that Jaxon lost his memories. There was a chance that he might used it to make Jaxon had a bad image to the other Alphas.
“If that will happen then I will say that it's a war. It maybe in the end become a bloody war. Did you think that the Alpha King will easily surrender? He has pride. I'm sure that he will not let Jaxon win without fighting for himself. He will use a lot of possibility that he can use against him. That's what happened to Morgan.” Uriel replied. He looked away on her when Veronica gave him a look. He seemed that he was trying to hide something from her, she was sure of that.
“Did you think that he's the one who kidnap Morgan?” She asked again. She was observing what Uriel had been thinking. Noticing how aloof he was made her think that Uriel was guilty from kidnapping Morgan.
“Yeah, he's the only one who have the power to kidnap him. He might used his men to make sure that everything would make Jaxon couldn't locate Morgan.”
”I hope that Jaxon would find a way to see him. It's been two years, and I already missed him. I always dream him when I was training myself. He might be waiting from me.” Veronica decided to play with his emotion. She was still giving Jaxon the benefit of the doubt because they were friends.
”I hope so. I'm still searching for him. If he's dead, there is a possibility that his dead body will be found. I don't think that Morgan is dead.”
Veronica sighed in relief. Uriel was right, if Morgan was dead, his dead body would be easily find. It might be a mysterious game that they needed to play wisely.
“I would be the one who will manage everything that Jaxon needs to do. Is there a meeting that he needs to attend?”
“He doesn't have any meetings now. He cleared his schedule when he's searching for Morgan. Maybe, he did that to make sure that he will he with you. I will inform you once there's a change to his schedule.”
Uriel informed her that he needed to leave that's why she let him be out from her sight. She was confused. Her heart kept telling her that Uriel was innocent but her mind was telling the opposite. It was evident that Uriel felt guilty.
“Are you done talking to my Beta? I don't see any reason that you want to be with him alone. I'm sure that he has a feelings for you!” Jaxon finally talked after eavesdropping. He didn't like that Veronica needed to have a conversation with Uriel.
“Stop being a childish. We are only trying to find Morgan. He's not even doing something bad on you!”
“If he's the one that I'm suspecting, there's a possibility that it's true. Veronica, we will---”
“Jaxon, please,” Veronica didn't know what she would say to him. She didn't like how clingy Jaxon was anymore. She felt that suffocated that Jaxon wanted to be with her always. “Don't you ever ruin my plan if you truly want to see Morgan.”
Jaxon automatically shut his mouth. Seeing how irritated she was made him think that Veronica wasn't bluffing anymore.
Veronica left him, and went straight to the kitchen that made him heart stabbed with a thousands of knives. His hands turned into a fist but he made sure that he was biting his lips to prevent himself from complaining.
Veronica was ready all of the documents of Jaxon when Uriel knocked the door. She didn't even say anything, and let Uriel came inside of Jaxon's office.
“Veronica, you have a visitor in our pack.”
“Who is that? I didn't even know that someone wants to visit me.”
Uriel sighed. He didn't like that he was acting that way that made her pouted her lips. He groaned before he said, “It's Veron. He didn't know that you will go here. Did you forget that you promise that you will give him a date? He's waiting for you.”
Veronica quickly stood up. She was panicking because she already forgot about Veron. She bit her lips because she was sure that Veron would reacted mad at her.
She made his hopes up, for she was thinking that Veron might be helping his father to win against Jaxon.
“Tell him that I will go to the entrance. Uriel, just don't tell this to Jaxon, he will act without even thinking.”
”It's too late that you say that because Alpha Jaxon is already with him. He seems upset that you played with his heart. Veronica it's better that you will cut your communications with Veron. He's not that innocent that you think. He won't be the son of the Alpha King for nothing.” Uriel advised that made me stopped instantly.
I closed my eyes to prevent him from knowing what my emotion was. I cleared my throat and didn't say anything but walked closer the door.
Uriel was only watching me leaving while there was a disappointed look in his eyes. Shit. Jaxon, don't you ever ruined what I planned right now.
