Veronica didn’t know what she would answer to him. She thought about what would happen once Jaxon found out, even though it wasn’t an actual relationship. Her lips parted as she tried to move away from Veron. Her lips trembled in anxiety. Seeing Veron act made her more anxious that he might hurt her in the end. Helene was such a lucky woman, but she felt bad for him even though she was always a bitch to her. She realized that Helene might have acted that way because the Alpha King pushed her to snatch Jaxon from her.
Helene might be in love with Jaxon, but it didn’t mean she would let herself be so low because of her feelings for him. Even though Jaxon already forgot her as his lover, she became desperate even more because Jaxon was the answer for her.
How would she know if Veron was telling her the truth? She was suspicious since Veron killed those men who were trying to guard her. She blinked her eyes, trying to calculate everything that she needed to think. She didn’t want to decide she would end up regretting it in the end. She needed to be wise like a serpent.
“I don’t know what I’m going to say, but I want to ensure you’re telling me the truth. Don’t be offended, Veron. Since your father keeps trying to ruin us, I only want to ensure that everything you say is true. I hope you will understand why I’m doubtful of you.” she said. She ensured her tone was soft, and she wouldn’t stammer because of nervousness.
Veron nodded his head. He understood why Veronica wanted to make sure. He wasn’t offended because Veronica had the right to mistrust him and Helene. He knew how Helene acted when she was with Veronica, and Veronica might be thinking if Helene deserved to be helped. He hoped Veronica would help him despite their evil doings towards them. He could promise he would stop Helene from whatever might happen once she decided to ruin Jaxon and Veronica’s relationship.
“It’s fine. I’m thinking how I will prove to you?” he muttered. He closed his eyes and gasped in irritation. He couldn’t bring Veronica into the Alpha King’s pack because he wasn’t allowed to do it. Aside from that, his father might have discovered that he had already shared everything with Veronica.
He cleared his throat before he added, “If you want to know the truth, you can ask Uriel about it. He’s having an affair with Helene behind your back. It is their way to sustain their needs because you and Jaxon don’t love them.”
“What are you trying to say? Uriel is not in love with me. I don’t think you are telling me the truth…” She tried to maintain her calmness. She still trusted Uriel so much. She knew when she was a child she was so close to Uriel, but it didn’t mean that she was in love with him.
“I can’t believe he doesn't tell you about his feelings.” Veron tried to hide his amusement. He couldn't believe Uriel didn't even tell Veronica what he felt for her. The truth was, he didn't know about it. He only heard it from Helene when he was talking with Uriel. He was sure Jaxon was mad at him, but he didn't even mind. All he thought was Helene.
When Veronica was walking away from where Veron stayed, she didn't know what she would think. She was panting while she could still feel the guards Veron had assigned her.
Her sister, Helene, was agitated with Veronica even more because her two men were madly in love with her. He couldn't blame them because there was something different heret her.
“What are you trying to say?”
“Uriel is madly in love with you. He's the one who always helped Helene to make her plans. They both understood each other because they both experienced the same shit.” He uttered. He didn't mind telling Veronica everything about Uriel. He knew him for so long. Since he was a child, his father introduced him to him.
Uriel was trained to be like a spy while living with Veronica in the same pack. His father discovered everything that led him to be out in Veronica's pack.
His father intentionally made Veronica's father know about the espionage they did to ensure they would be kicked out of the pack.
“You are his childhood crush, but it's not only a crush. He's in love with you. We both got along when we were together.”
Veronica became more hesitant. She remembered that Uriel told him to stay away from Veron. She forced herself to smile, trying to hide how dubious she was when she said, “When you talk about him, it seems you both seem closed. I don't know if you like to be friends.”
“He's not my friend. We only know each other because his father is the Beta of my father. Well, the truth is my father is the same as his father. They are merciless and don't mind if they might use their children for their own gain. I hope you will understand what I'm trying to say now.” Veron pursed his lips. He stood up and glanced at Veronica.
“Inform me if you finally decide. I will wait for your decision, and you can tell this to Jaxon if he wants to know the truth. I don't want to ruin your relationship with him.” Veron said once again before he left. He asked someone who would guard Veronica to come home.
She only made sure she would be back in Jaxon's pack. When she returned, she asked someone not to inform Jaxon because she wanted to surprise him. She went straight to the pack house to Jaxon's office when she didn't see Jaxon in their bed.
“I can't believe this. I trust her to you.” She heard Ava talk. Her hands shook aggressively. She couldn't understand why Ava was with Jaxon.
“Have you already informed Veronica about what you have done? I promise she will be mad at you!” It was Alpha James.
“I will be the one who will tell her. I don't still have the strength to make her know I finally remembered everything.” It was Jaxon.
She covered her hands in her mouth. She couldn't believe that Jaxon had finally recalled his memories. How dare he!
“It's better if we tell her everything. I don't want her to get mad at me.” Ava said. She was severe and scared at the same time.
“I always told you what you must say to her. She's your sister!”
“Veronica!” It was Uriel, who talked behind her back that led James, Ava, and Jaxon to stop talking.
