Albert only nodded when he heard what Andrew had commented. He followed him but stopped when Andrew came forward to his house. He sighed. He couldn't understand why he seemed worried that there was something wrong with what Veron had been doing.
Perhaps he wasn't used to Veron would be with Jaxon since he knew how much he hated him so much. He couldn't understand why he needed to return to the pack house.
However, he didn't want Veron to think that he was trying to eavesdrop, which was why he didn't bother to complain when he asked him to leave. He hardly sighed. Maybe he was overthinking. He knew how Veron trusted him so much.
Veron faked his cough. He wanted to ask Helene personally and alone. He disliked that she brought Jaxon into his pack.
“Veron, what's wrong?” Helene asks with worry in her tone.
Veronica glimpsed at Veron, who continued sighing as if he was trying to calm himself not to get mad at Helene. She slowly held her hand, making Jaxon clenched his teeth in jealousy.
Seeing how Veronica was attached to Veron was alarming for Jaxon. He was madly jealous and couldn't stop himself from giving him a death glare. He inhaled to calm his wolf. He didn't like to create a scene since he was trying to pursue his mate.
“Helene, can we talk alone.” Veron finally talked. He gave Veronica a look before he stood up and left the kitchen area.
Helene was confused. She couldn't understand why Veron wanted to talk to her. She followed Veron, leaving Jaxon and Veronica alone in the kitchen area.
Veronica acted like she was only alone. She took the utensil and began eating her meal. At the same time, Jaxon was watching her intently as if he was scared that she might evaporate.
“Veronica, when will you go back to my pack?” He asked.
Veronica sighed. She didn't want to talk with Jaxon. She couldn't believe that after what he had done, he never apologized to her. What made her more speechless was he asked her when she would return to his pack as if they had never separated.
“Alpha Jaxon, I don't think I will return to your pack. Do you forget what you have done to me?”
“I only did that because I'm desperate. I risked my life to do that stunt.”
“Then, you make me realize how manipulative you are. Why don't you respect my decision? You can pursue me and make me see if you are truly genuine to get me back. You will do anything so I can forgive you, but...” she paused. She chewed her food elegantly before she continued, “You don't do it. You only want the fastest way to make me back in your pack. Jaxon barked a laugh. He shook his head before he responded, “He was missing, Veronica. I already found him. We both talked, and he told me he didn't want to move back into my pack. He needs to guard the girl he likes.”
“What are you talking about? Are you crazy? Do you think it's a good idea to use Morgan so I will be back on you?”
“What makes you think I'm lying? I'm an Alpha, and I have proof if I see Morgan. You may ask for a proof. What's the use of lying to you?”
“J-Jaxon!” She gnashed her teeth. She was the one who had the right to get Morgan. She slammed the table out of anger and looked at him murderously. Her hands shook, and she wanted to throw every food on the table.

Veronica was stunned. She didn't know what she would say because she noticed how confident Jaxon was. Her eyes became emotionless when she saw Jaxon trying to manipulate her emotions again.
