“What are you doing here? I only ask Veronica to go here alone.” Jaxon scowled when he saw Veron with Veronica. Helene touched his hand and acted sweet when he noticed a pair of eyes watching them outside Jaxon's pack.
“Hey! He's my brother. Why are you mistreating him?” She sweetly whispered and encircled her hands on Jaxon's. He was dumbfounded but understood why Helene was acting that way.
He couldn't sleep properly because of Uriel and Helene again, and the thought that he would be with Veronica excited him. He felt his wolf howling excitedly and turned disappointed when Veron was with her.
“Alpha Jaxon, you invited us both. Do you forget it?” Veronica pursed her lips. She arched her brow before she stepped forward while she dragged Veron with her.
Jaxon was speechless. He didn't know what to say to Veronica but watched them enter their pack. He gnashed her teeth but talked with Uriel using the mind link.
‘I want you to get that rat. Punish him as long as you want.’
Uriel bowed his head. He moved away and acted like he would leave them, but he nodded at Helene. That was his way of saying goodbye to her.
“Where is he going?” Helene asked with worry.
Jaxon scratched his forehead in annoyance before saying, “He will get the spies who follow Veronica and Veron.”
Helene didn't say anything. They both followed Veronica and Veron, who were walking before them. Jaxon's hand turned into a fist. He had a lot of plans to make Veronica come back to him, but how would he do that?
He wanted her too badly. He would make sure he would have time alone with his mate. Veron knew where he would position himself.
“Let's go. Don't mind him. He will wait for you here.” Jaxon quickly changed his clothes. He changed Veronica's clothes so no one would notice she was with him.
Veron nodded while Helene was looking at them with curiosity. Veron didn't mind if they left the pack without them because the Alpha King could quickly notice it once they were four, who would go to Morgan.
Veronica nodded. She hugged Veron first, making Jaxon growled in jealousy. Veron grinned at him.
“Veronica, let's go. Our son is waiting for us.”
Veronica glanced at Veron for the last time before she came closer to Jaxon. They walked towards the back of the pack and saw Uriel, who was waiting for them.
Uriel bowed his head before he uttered, “We successfully got them. They are punishing them.”
Veronica couldn't understand what they might be talking about but didn't mind to mind someone else business. They both followed Uriel, who was walking to lead them.
It was full of grass and trees, and Veronica couldn't stop herself from getting anxious that someone might catch them. She didn't see Jaxon watching her, which made Jaxon hold her hand and squeeze.
“You don't need to worry. We are here. We're in Alpha Gerry's pack.” Jaxon tried to assure her that made her nod her head. She stared at their hands but didn't violently react because Jaxon was only doing his best to make her feel safe.
Jaxon was waiting for Veronica to remove his hand, but he felt that he wanted to jump in so much joy when he saw Veronica never complained. He tightened his grip and licked his lips. He looked away when he felt his cheeks burning in humiliation.
He was acting like a woman who got the chance to be with his crush. He sighed and tried to control his wolf when his wolf was making him want to take advantage of the opportunity. He would obey what Uriel had advised him.
“We are here,” Uriel announced.
Jaxon saw Alpha Gerry, who was waiting for them with his troops. Veronica frowned. She couldn't understand why those men were awaiting them.
“He's Alpha Gerry. He's the one who let Morgan stay here to ensure he will be safe.” Uriel informed her that it made her finally understand why the man was waiting for them.
“It's nice to meet you, Alpha Gerry. I'm thankful you permitted my son to stay here.” Veronica muttered, which made Alpha Gerry chuckle. He looked away when Jaxon was giving him a death stare, especially when he couldn't remove his eyes on her.
“I'm sorry, I don't know. Morgan has a beautiful, stunning mother. Perhaps he looks like Alpha Jaxon. That's why I don't think about it.” Alpha Gerry laughed nervously, and Uriel did the same. He bowed his head and took Veronica's hand to give it a kiss that made Jaxon utter profanities.
“Alpha Jaxon, what are you doing? He's only giving a respect.” Veronica couldn't stop herself from nagging him. Her brows almost touched, and her teeth showed how annoyed she was.
Alpha Gerry was amazed. He knew how heartless Jaxon was, but seeing how Veronica treated him made him realize that it was confirmed that a woman could hold a man's neck. He was thankful he still didn't have a woman, or he would finally lose his power.
“N-Nothing. I hate it when he kisses your hand.” Jaxon swallowed. He wasn't scared of Veronica, but he was getting turned on because she was aggressive. Veronica had such a significant impact on him.
He groaned when he felt his dick hardened and excitedly wanted to be with her.
Alpha Gerry coughed. He assigned someone who would lead Veronica toward Morgan. Veronica was anxious. She wondered if Morgan was mad at him that she had not found him for a long time.
She couldn't stop overthinking how Morgan would react once he saw her. They started walking through the pack house and stopped.
“He's in the back of the pack house. He likes to stay in the tall tree.” Alpha Gerry informed her that, making her nod.
Jaxon pulled Veronica so they could both go where Morgan was. Her hands were shaking in nervousness.
“Morgan isn't mad at you. Calm down.” Jaxon whispered.
Veronica sighed. Her eyes formed tears. She couldn't stop getting scared that Morgan might throw her away.
“He's been missing for a long time. He has the right to get mad at me.” Veronica whispered those words.
Jaxon couldn't remove his eyes from her. He couldn't understand why he felt how his heart clenched in pain while he was looking at her tears.
He pulled Veronica closer to him, making Veronica startled by his action. He closed his eyes while he was caressing Veronica's back.
“J-Jaxon, what are you doing?” she stammered.
“I don't like to see you crying,” Jaxon whispered. Veronica was speechless. Her mouth parted in surprise. When Jaxon pulled away from her, she noticed a tear in his eyes. ”I fucking hate to see you crying right now.”
She swallowed when Jaxon moved closer, and she didn't react when he kissed her on her lips. It was gentle and full of love that she couldn't stop herself from answering his kisses.
