*Omario POV*
I catch up with Abi at the garden and wrap my arms around her waist. She untangles herself from my embrace and face away.
“Please don’t touch me,” her cold voice sends chills down my spine.
“Abigail, it was before we were mated,”I explain, the distance between us scarring the living daylights out of me.
“I told you months before you slept with her that you were my mate. You refused to listen and got her pregnant,” she accuses and my heart sinks.
“Babe, I know. We have gone through this and you forgave me,” I remind her softly and she loses it.
“So, I must just shut up?”
I sigh. “Babe, please calm down. I know that you are angry and not thinking straight and I understand that…..”
“You understand nothing!” she yells and the dull pain on my chest intensifies.
“Babe, please,” I plead but she shakes her head.
“I want to be alone.”
I nod and leave her sitting on the bench. Time alone to think might be good because she is too angry for us to discuss anything right now.
Two hours later, I can’t believe my eyes when the elders return with Olivia and her belongings. I swear some people have a death wish!
“What part of I and my Luna will decide what happens did you not hear?” I yell at them in frustration. This is one more thing that will make Abi angrier.
They all bow down and all I want is to punch them really hard.
“Your Highness. It is our responsibility to protect the kingdom. We have rogues wondering in the shadows. An Alpha’s child is only safe in the castle or we will be caught unprepared,” one elder responds.
I fully get what he is saying. Now that everyone knows that Olivia is carrying my child, she could be abducted and I get blackmailed for anything, but all of this could have waited until Abi and I made the decision.
“Leave her here, my Luna and I still need to talk about this,” I instruct just as my mate walks in.
“She is not staying here.” I know my mate too well to know that her calm voice is scarier than her yelling.
“Babe, we need to talk,” I say and pull her to the side. I would have preferred that we take our time talking about this but the forward elders are already here with Olivia. This is getting out of control very fast and I need to hear her views.
“She is not staying here,” Abi repeats decisively.
“Babe, she is a risk to the kingdom out there. I swear to you that nothing is going between here and I and nothing is ever going to happen, but she is carrying my pup….”
“Your what?” she asks sharply.
“Babe, please. It is my responsibility to protect the pub and this kingdom,” I explain with pleading eyes.
“Then take your pup and leave!”
I walk closer to her but she backs away. “Abi, my love.”
She shakes her head. “She is never staying here and that’s final!”
“I can’t send them away.” I know that this will make her angrier but Olivia and more importantly my pup are at risk out there.
“Then you have made your decision. You better take her and leave because I won’t stop Nina from killing both of them,” she says angrily.
“Abigail.”
“I, Abigail of Lily town creak….”
I shake my head frantically, piercing pain ripping through my heart as she continues.
“Reject you, Omario, as my mate and Alpha.”
I fall on my knees, suddenly can’t breathe. Titan growls and whines in pain.
The elders all run towards us, shocked.
“I…need…to hear..Nina,” I stammer through the pain.
“I will kill her the first chance I get, but I will never reject you,” Nina links and my heart shatters into tiny pieces.
Nina always speaks her mind. She will definitely kill Olivia and the baby and Abi is too angry with me to stop her.
I use all my energy to get on my feet and face my fuming mate’s blazing eyes.
“I, Omario of the Lily town kingdom, step down as the kingdom’s Alpha.”
“What?” Olivia is the one who asks, perplexed.
I don’t bother with Olivia but address my next statement to my mate.
“I will take her away from here. You will never have to see her again.”
This is the only solution I can come up with right now.
“Reject me and go!” Abi yells, angrily.
“I dare you to. I swear I will kill that pup myself,” Titan finally shows up. I have made very stupid decisions in the past but his lack of trust in me still hurts.
I shake my head and face Abu again. “I will never reject you, Abigail. You are my mate, till death.”
“Get out of here! Everyone out!” Abi yells and the room gets really hot. Nina is already ranging and Abi is trying to simultaneously control her and her own anger. My heart breaks all over again because I can sense that she is about to explode and there is nothing I can do to dull her pain.
“Everyone out,” Terrence commands. The elders quickly head out but stupid Olivia digs on her heels.
I pull Olivia and drag her towards the door but the stupid woman is trying to fight me.
“No! We can’t just leave. You are the Alpha and our baby has a right to grow up here!” she yells.
“Listen here, I am no longer the Alpha. You either come with me or my mate is going to kill you.” I can’t hide the irritation on my voice. I have too much to deal with and have no time for her petty nonsense.
I feel her tremble, reality finally registering in her slow head. She was there when Nina killed dad and his disgusting friends, including her aunt.
We have just stepped out when the hall gets consumed by flames. Nina has finally taken over it I can feel Abi’s broken heart. I broke her despite my attempts to love her better. I guess I am my father’s son after all.
“My stuff!” Olivia cries, as we all watch the flames spread out destroying the whole west wing of the castle. “That’s all my valuables,” she adds.
“No one invited you to bring your stuff here!” I snap at her.
“You need to go,” Terrence says when the flames start dying down.
“Please take care of her,” I say before embracing him and planting a kiss on my mother’s cheeks.
They both nod and see us to the car.
“She will calm down, eventually,” Terrence says as I drive off, but I am not so optimistic. It’s not like Olivia can be unpregnant and I don’t see both Nina and Abi ever accepting my pup with Olivia.
