Astra tried getting to the river, but the more she moves, the more she feels consumed by the fire, she kept screaming, and wailing in an excruciating agony, that as soon as she got to the closest river, she just dived in.
She was still relaxing, when she heard a sinister laugh behind her, she knew then that her trouble isn't over, she thought Blair had come back to hunt her, and make sure she is actually dead, but the voice that accompanied the laughter, was not that if Blair, but Tangy.
She could have swore that she got caught in the war, and maybe gone, but seeing her behind her, laughing with a fierce amber eye, she knew in her vulnerable state, she was toast.
"Go away Tangy, I am not in the mood". She manages to say, trying hard to hide her fear.
"Why should I go away, when you and I have scores to settle, and you are supposed to make sure we settle it?
"Well, you still need to go away, because I am unwell at this moment. It is cowardice to fight a vulnerable person".
"Actually my friend, I think this is the best time, to strike". She says, deploying a spell on her, which she immediately dodged, by going straight into the water.
Tangy dived into the water to find her, when she did, the fight continued there.
She grabbed Astra's neck and started to strangle her. Astra on the other hand, though was still trying to heal naturally, knew she needed to fight back, else, Tangy would kill her in. the river, so she fought back with all her strength, but it wasn't really working, as Tangy was getting an upper hand on her. She thought of getting out of the water, so she could use her witch power, to transport, since her powers, doesn't work in the water, but Tangy seem to know this, so she made sure, she stays put in the river, trying to drown her. Tangy was already getting her way, when Astra noticed a rock, down in the river, she pretended to be running away, by swimming fast, and as expected, Tangy followed her, but she swiftly moved away, so that Tangy, in her quest to catch her, will hit the Rock, which was what happened, and lost guard, for her forehead started bleeding, that she held it tight, and tried finding her way out of the river, but before she could, Astra pressed her down, taking advantage of her state, but that was also a chance for her to get out of the water, so that she could land and use her power, she needed to go back to her kingdom, she needed to reach Adman, he would come to her, if she is out of the river, and is able to use her powers, so instead of fighting Tangy in the river, whom she knows will heal any time soon, she decided to hit her head against the rock some more, so that she could use that opportunity, to swim out.
With one hand, she pulls Tangy by the neck, spin her in the water, and she hit her head against the same rock harder than before.
"That should keep you out for a while". She says, laughing wickedly, as she swims out of the water, but as soon as she got to the shore, she found a man looking down at her, it took her almost a minute to figure out whom it was that was looking at her.
When Leo saw that the person that swam out is not Tangy, he dived in, only to find her, almost out, so he helped her out, but before he could get out to the shore with Tangy in hand, Astra was gone, she had completely healed, and she could do whatever she wanted again.
"I told you not to go after her". He scolded, but with a very calm tone, full of concern, as he also nurse the bleeding head, that took another minute on the dry ground to heal.
"I need to get her, she must pay for all she did". Leo stared at her, smiling.
"I am glad you are okay, you should be glad too, now can I take you back to your father's house, before we shall know what verdict the new Alpha have for us?
"He is going to kill me, but I wanted to kill that witch first".
"I don't think if you go to them, they will still have the same mind to slay you? He says.
"But the witch is dead, Jayden is sober, he might get too angry and kill me on the spot". She was scared clearly.
"I don't think that will happen, so don't worry so much about that, and about Astra, she can only run, but she cannot hide, the world is looking for her, and the only person that could help her is gone, so she is alone, in the world, she will have to get used to it". Tangy wasn't convinced yet, and she was obviously not happy that she didn't kill Astra, she would have stabbed her, when she was still healing from what Blair did to her, she was full of hate and revenge, she doesn't want to suffer alone, Astra led her to what she did, so she should suffer first, and though she knows that if Blair wants to find her, she will find her, she still wanted to be the one to kill her, so that she could face her own doom squarely.
Leo stopped half way, turned to her, and pulls her close.
"No matter what happens today or tomy, just know that, I got your back and I will always help you scale through". He was already making her feel like she was going to die, so she hugged him, and wept for the first time in a long time, whole he consoles her.
"I don't think we are ever going to find a way to be together? She asked. Taking that, since they were not allowed to be together, giving them different mates, that didn't work for them, and now that they could be together, she has a death sentence.
"If we are not together in this life, we will be together in another life". He says, kissing her passionately.
"Where are you taking me to now? She asked, even though she already knows.
"You were in the palace before, I want to take you back there". It was the right thing to do, but she was scared. Should she run away? if she did, she would never be free from running, she will keep running and they will surely find her, but if she goes back to the dungeon, they could look on to her with pity, and give her a lighter punishment. The later is better, so she nodded her head, agreeing to go back to the palace, to turn herself back in.
