AUTHOR'S POV:
“Yes, I am the one whose life you saved that night from that monster.”The officer revealed.
“Huh?”Ella let out a surprised cry and then she realized that the person she saved that night when she was looking for the basement door was actually a police officer and that is why he has come over here without them calling him, to save her.
He has seen Gael but still, he didn’t reveal about his existence at all and also her powers, which means he knows about it too but now as Gael is gone so is her powers, Ella thought, and then with a look of gratitude thanked him.
“Thank you so much.”
“And you too, Thank you. If it wasn't you, I wouldn't be able to stand here alive. Thanks again for saving my life that night.”
Ella smiled politely in response, so God never let your good work go to waste, he would always find a way to give it back to you.
“I will try my best to get you some home allowance as this house has insurance. And hopefully, you will hear from the insurance company soon. By the time, you can use my flat in the city, here.”The officer said while handing her the key to his flat.
“This is…”Ella was going to refuse but the officer insisted and also Ella knew that she had no choice except to take the key to his house, she and Oliver are temporarily homeless at the moment and in need of a place to stay for a while.
“Thank you, sir.”
“You can take your car and rest at my home, I will contact you if there would be something important.”The police officer said, assuringly and Ella breathed a sigh of relief.

“Ella, let’s forget the past and start over our life together,” Oliver said while holding her hand and squeezing it as he drove the car away from the burning place and gave her a warm smile.
“Oliver, we should start a new life, but … separately,” Ella said as she pulled her hand away from him, indifferently.
Oliver felt disappointed but didn’t say anything, he knew that Ella was extremely shocked by what had happened to her, and also she is going through a great trauma because of that monster.
He gritted his teeth as he wasn’t able to save her from that evil creature. While Ella kept looking at the rearview mirror in which she could see the heavy smoke coming out from the burned house.
After reaching the apartment, both Oliver and Ella decided to take a shower first. While taking a shower Ella looked down at her bruised body, she has multiple marks on her body but not a slight pain at all.
She closed her eyes in pain, thinking about Gael. The water removing the dirt from her body was also removing Gael’s scent and effect from her.
After wearing her clothes, Ella picked up the wedding gown and her eyes flashed with her old memories of Gael. She flinched in pain and suddenly the dress fell from her hands while her hands sparked with light.
She stared at her hand, stunned. The devil has gone and so has his powers so how come she still has it?
She frowned, confused and just then a knock interrupted her thoughts, “Ella, you coming?”
It was Oliver, “yeah.”Ella replied and went out trying to be normal and not showing any anxiousness or worry on her face of what had happened before in the washroom.
She ate just a little and then went to sleep in one of the rooms in the apartment.
The next day, when Oliver woke up, he felt light and relaxed, after making breakfast he went to Ella’s room and knocked before going inside.
But when he went inside, the room was empty with a note on the bedside table, written by Ella.
“DEAR OLIVER, I CAN NEVER START MY LIFE WITH ANYONE BECAUSE MY LIFE HAS BEEN GONE WITH THE DEVIL. THE DEVIL WHOM I LOVED DEEPLY AND WOULD LOVE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. I DON'T THINK THAT I AM WORTHY OF ANY MAN IN THIS LIFE AFTER HIM AND I AM GLAD THAT I AM NOT BECAUSE WHAT HE GOT FOR ME AND WHAT I HAVE FOR HIM IS SOMETHING THAT IS VERY UNIQUE AND SPECIAL. EVEN WHEN HE IS GONE FROM MY LIFE, HE STILL STAYS WITH MY MEMORIES AND I COULD SURVIVE MY WHOLE LIFE WITH HIS AND MINE BLISSFUL MEMORIES. SO PLEASE, START A NEW LIFE AND TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. YOUR STEP-SISTER., ELLA.”
Oliver sighed, and a sad smile appeared on his lips. “My Step Sister Ella Is In Love With A Devil..”
