"Zuriña..." He called again and she jabbed her fist into his stomach, sending him out of the broadcasting room.
Blood seeped out of his mouth as he raised his eyes to an approaching Zuriña and it became clear to him.
Zuriña wasn't herself anymore.
"Calm down and listen to me..." He yelled.
What did that bastard do to turn her to something like this?
"Snap out of it, Zuriña."
She plunged her arm through and he looked down to realize she'd missed and had gotten through his clothes instead.
"Zuriña..."
She made to hit him again and he avoided it, crashing into another room. He wasn't going to survive this if he wasn't careful.
He looked down at his stomach. The healing process was yet to kick back in because of two reasons. She wasn't just an ordinary vampire and he didn't have much time left.
He had to concentrate on getting her back to normal first, though she didn't look like she was going to calm down anytime soon.
He turned to hit his fist on the wall, creating an exit for him to the surface as Zuriña walked towards him, that deadly glare in her eyes.
Zuriña sped to hit him but he was quick to slide from beside her, avoiding her hit. Her power had suddenly amplified,as she was faster and her hits were heavier than before.
She made to bash him again but suddenly stopped on seeing something and his eyes followed, to fall on her crown of thorns.
Was that it? He wondered. She'd been controlling herself with it and since she reacted on sighting it, it was worth the shot.
He raced over to fetch it as she went to attack him, tripping over to fall on him as he slid the crown on her head, restoring her immediately.
She looked surprised.
"Why am I here?" She asked and he heaved a sigh of relief.
"I almost died." He panted.
"Where's Yiannais?" She asked, pressing on his injured stomach. He clenched his fist, trying not to groan.
She looked down at his ripped clothes." What happened?...Did I do this to you?"
"No."
She slapped her hand against her palm and he knew she probably knew he was lying.
"Zuriña, it wasn't..."
She turned back, an apologetic look on her face. "I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me..."
"Nah. You couldn't do anything about that. I managed to avoid a couple of punches, thanks to my amazing reflexes, and quick judgement. So it's all good." He smiled.
"Your clothes are terribly ripped."
"My body and clothes couldn't keep up with my speed at first." He paused ad turned to look at the dark sky. "By the way, it seems the vaccine has been distributed, so there's nothing we can do about it. But the situation isn't too bad."
"Do you think we can get something from Mamon?" She asked.
"I'm not sure. Let's give it a shot." He said, walking behind her as they headed for his apartment.
On arriving, they were surprised to see Mamon's clothes on the floor and from the look of things,he'd probably been killed.
"I was hoping to kill him myself though." She said.
He nodded. "It's better this way. If he's alive, he'll do worse things in the future."
She turned to him."But who killed him?"
"Well, there's only one person it could be, right. There's no need to keep a useless person alive."
She raked her fingers through her hair as she looked over the almost destroyed factory. "If I'd known I'd meet Yiannais, I would have prepared myself."
"It's okay. By the way, I spotted a place earlier. I think it'll be nice to pass the night there."
Yiannais groaned as Levi helped him sit on the sofa. The healing process was yet to kick in for a while now which meant he had to endure the pain.
"I'll get the first aid kit."Levi said and made to rise when he grabbed her hand.
"The healing process will kick in soon."
"I can't just watch you..."
He scowled."It's an order."
She sighed as she sat beside him, looking like she had something to say.
"What is it?"
"Master, what do you think about them?...The pureblood and the detective? It looks like they're lovers."
The detective was the least person he wanted to hear at that moment. "Hmm."
She leaned closer to him. "But is that detective is also a vampire too? Won't it be better for us to kill him first?"
"No." He snorted."I don't think there's need to do that."
"Why?" She was confused.
"I could see it. He doesn't have much time left."
Zuriña's jaw dropped on arriving the place the detective was talking about.
"Woah...I didn't know there was a church here." She said as she looked around. It had probably been abandoned for a while.
"The roof is a mess but I think we can still take a rest here, what do you think?" He said as they walked in.
"I like it and...it also brings back some memories."
"It's really dark. But luckily, since it's a church, there should be lots of candles." He said and soon started lightening up the church.
"All done. It's all brightened up." He was saying as she took off her crown.
"Zuriña...Is it okay for you to take it off? I thought you'd change again."
She smiled. "I used it to control myself only when I got worked up."
"You better be careful then. Does that mean when you do some intense exercise, you'll have to wear it?"
Blush rose to her cheeks."In...tense?"
She swallowed. With him?
She shook off the thought. What was she thinking?
"No...What do you mean I have to wear it...while doing it? It's a holy thing given to me by the priest."
"Zuriña, what are you talking about?" He grimaced as he shook his head.
Did her head become weird when her heart became weird?
"Oh." He said looking out through the window and she turned to see a galaxy of stars flooding the sky.
"It's the milky way." She smiled.
"It's really pretty."
"The sky is still gorgeous, both ten years ago and now...But why has the world under the sky changed like this?"She sighed as she sat on one of the church pews. "If the world goes back to normal, I want to show my siblings this view. I feel bad for looking at it by myself."
"You can just live in a place like this. The air is nice and you can see the stars. It's also a wish of mine to drink beer while looking at this kind of view."
Ramiel suddenly came to her mind. She'd missed him.
"I want to show this to a friend."
"Oh, did you also had those kinds of wishes?"
She nodded. "Yeah, I wanted to adjust quickly to university life..." She turned to him. "Detective, let's drink beer together next time."
He looked like he was going to smile but rather he stood with a serious expression on his face.
"Zuriña, I going to smoke for a while."
"Was I too serious?...Or did I get too excited?" She wondered as he headed out of the church.
Her nose caught the smell of blood shortly afterwards and she sprang to her feet.
"Detective?" She called and got no answer. She heard something dripping and the smell was getting stronger.
"Detective, where are you?"
