Kaiwan was walking into the living area, a couple of days later when the anchor's question caught his attention.
"Who wouldn't? I heard he'll be coming back with a show."
"This is going to be the biggest show in the country."
Vael was holding a show? He hadn't told them a thing about it.
Purple hair was walking into the living area and he turned to him.
"You're holding a show?"
"What? You want to come cheer?" He scoffed.
"I'm not kidding."
"Yiannais ordered it." He replied and Kaiwan went to grab him the collar.
"What? You sneaky..."
"He found out about the people I've been hiding...The only way to make it up to him is perform in that show."
"Why do I have the ugly feeling that's not all?"
"You're right. Most of the people coming are
VIPS...and hurdles to the supply of the vaccine." He said and Kaiwan slowly dropped his hands.
"Yiannais wants to take them down there."
"No.He wants me to do it."
Kaiwan was shocked. Why him?
"Have you forgotten? I'm his right hand man, the one in charge of the dirty work." He said.
"What are you going to do?"
"What? Worried about me now?"
"Like I care. Just spill it."
"Yiannais plans to make me take the blame for their deaths, but I intend to turn the tables around."
"How?" He asked and he clicked his tongue.
"I don't know yet."
Kaiwan wore his worry on his face. He had a terrible feeling about all of this.
"Don't worry. I've got this."
"Who said I'm worried?" He snorted and Vael chuckled as he went to check on Daniel who meowed at the sight of him.
"You know I keep telling you that you're not supposed to say meow? You aren't a little cat." He said and Daniel lowered his head to his.
"You know I'll do anything for you, right?"
His time was near, he could feel it.
"I'll save you, Daniel... Even if it's at the cost of my life."
Kaiwan headed for Zuriña's room, where she was staring out through her window.
"Hey."
"Detective." She called as he walked over.
"Doing something?"
"No...was just thinking about Vael."
He was surprised. "Vael?"
"I was curious about how he lived his life. He treats animals differently from what I've ever seen."
"I feel like he was like a villain in those comic books and extremely selfish. I witnessed it first hand."
She turned to him with a smile. "Then, can you tell me about his relationship with Daniel?"
He was rather quiet and she angled her head.
"It's seems like you don't know much about the angels of death anymore." She teased.
"Is that so?" He asked and she laughed when he took our his phone to look up info on him.
"See, Vael's information is coming out like water coming out of a faucet."
"So, you do know much."
He was easier to figure out than she thought. Just a little tease and she had him doing to her bidding.
"Ah, this..." He grimaced on seeing something.
"What? Is there something wrong?"
He read out from his phone as she neared to have a look. "The most popular magician, who won all the awards as the youngest genius magician, Vael. But...was he behind that incident?"
"What incident?"
He lowered his phone with a sigh. "A terrible accident killed a whole team of magicians and leaving the only survivor missing...I should look more into the incident later."
A knock on the door sent their heads turning towards it.
"Come in." She said and Vael walked in.
"I need to talk to you." He said and she turned to glance at Kaiwan.
"Okay." She said and he went to have a seat.
"I need you do to me a favor."
"A favor."
"I have to disappear for a while...and so, I want to put Daniel in your care." He said.
"What?"
"Hey, purple hair..."
"You're the only people I can entrust with Daniel."
Taking care of Daniel wasn't the problem. Vael sounded like he was saying goodbye.
"What are you thinking of doing?" Kaiwan asked.
"I haven't figured it out yet..." He said and turned to Zuriña. "And I want you to promise me something...You must save Daniel, please."
The look on his face moved her heart and she lowered her head for a minute before she raised it to look at him.
If she could save Daniel, she might find a way to save the detective.
"I promise."
