She needed to get out of there.
Her eyes turned to the windows and she smiled. That was it.
She raced to hit her side against the window frame, smashing it into pieces and was surprised she landed back at the hallway she had met Levi. Her eyes caught the image of the front entrance of the hotel on the shattered glass and her eyes widened on realising it was a picture. Everything in the hotel wasn't real. it was all a fake.
On realising she was stuck in a maze, she rose to her feet, not wanting to get caught up in it anymore. Since the place had turned out to be a mess, she decided to head for a bigger room.
She raised her head to look at the room numbers and she nearly fainted on realising they all had the same number.
Pain shot through her arm and she winced as she looked down at it. Her harm was melting in acid and she frowned. When did this happen?
Her mind went back to the time she had tried to get out through the window and realized Levi must have had acid on them.
Was that why she had brought her here? To make her play in a maze?
"From now on, you're going to be in the palm of my hand. This isn't a maze, but your grave."
She heard Levi say in her head.
The hallway was an endlessly connected one and all the rooms were the same. Did she think she would play her game in that shitty maze?
An idea struck her and she wondered why she didn't think of it. She could just destroy the walls. There was always an end to a maze.
It might be a bit short but if she destroyed the walls, she could definitely get out.
She zoomed to the end of the hallway, hovering towards the wall a few metres from it. The wall smashed and pain races through her entire body as she dropped, before opening her eyes to see she was in another room. She whipped her head to see acid dripping down from where she had broken through. Again? Was there no end to this? How did she make this kind of trap?
"You didn't expect me to set a trap, did you?" Levi asked and she turned round.
Was that her voice just now? Where was she talking from? It didn't look like a broadcast, but what was it?
"It's telepathy." Levi answered with a laugh. "Your expression changed a lot from before,huh?...Don't tell me you got scared by that, did you? You're a pureblood after all. For your information, these custom made walls have acid in them....Even if you're a pureblood, your recovery speed won't be able to keep up with the melting acid."
Zuriña gritted her teeth and curled her fist. The quantity was more than that time, if she continued, she would probably lose.
"Try your best to escape. The more you do so, the better it is for me, because if you continue like that, your body will be completely melted and you will disappear and your heart will be the only thing left." Levi said and she bit her lip. So that was why she had created the maze.
"Zuriña Anderson...Do you know what desperateness is?"
"What are you talking about?" She yelled.
"I used to be very weak, even at the police station, home, school...And even under my own blanket, I was not safe. But after struggling for so long, I found my safe place. My safe place with Yian...When I was there, I felt like I wouldn't suffer anymore."
"Come out right now."
"For the first time, a person who appeared and protected me and became the only person who was by my side...but that person was looking somewhere else. I could see him. Our hands touched everyday, but they weren't touching at the same time.Do you know how that feels?" Levi asked.
"Stop with the bullshit and come out, Levi."
"You have a lot in your life, Zuriña Anderson, but I don't...And that's why I can only become more and more desperate.I have to win against you. Now, all you will be thinking about is how to exit the building...But guess what? This building is not designed so simple.Other than acid filled walls, I have another trap set up.A trap that no one can avoid. A trap which will kill you."
Zuriña closed her eyes and took in deep breaths.
"Levi, you don't know me well enough. I won't die from mere acid filled walls." She said inside of her. She just had to think of something.
"Zuriña, you can hear me, right?" The detective suddenly asked and she raised her hand to her ear. She had completely forgotten she was connected to the detective.
"Detective..." She muttered under her breath.
"From now on, just listen to me and don't think about anything, so Levi can't read through you. Just follow the directions I give you."
"Okay."
"Go towards the southern direction and run fifty metre ahead, there is an elevator there."
Southern direction.
She turned to her back and raced down the hallway, locating the elevator almost immediately.
"Found it."
"How was it?" He asked and she walked into the elevator. "It was a little tight of timing, right?"
"It was. It felt as if my heart was going to leap out of my chest. But...how did you figure out the way?"
"This is Detective Kaiwan Miller you're talking about here. I got it as soon as I saw it. It's like I'm looking at an x-ray."
She smiled. "In these types of situations, you're really like a detective."
"But Riña, you're not hurt, right?" She heard him ask.
"Yeah, I'm alright."
"That's a relief. I'll join you there soon."
The elevator suddenly stopped at the 23rd floor and she frowned, wondering why it did.
There was no way Levi would be there. She probably went to the 40th floor, which was the last floor. She reached to press the buttons on the elevator but they weren't working.
"The doors are opening." The elevator announcement came and she raised her head to adjust her crown. Since she stopped there by accident, she would just handle them by hypnosis alone.
She walked out of the elevator to be met with tons of vampires with blazing red eyes. Her hypnosis would work perfectly.
She raised her hand to snap her fingers, but to her utmost surprise, it didn't seem to work.
What was going on? Why couldn't she hypnotize them? She wondered and took a closer look. Those people were already hypnotized.
"Well, this is all worthless." She snitted under her breath as they all came lunging towards her.
She grabbed the nearest two, slamming them into the ground before lashing out her foot to hit three approaching vampires on the face on the face. One succeeded in slamming a fist into her stomach and she responded by breaking his spine.
A couple of them leapt towards her and she dodged allowing them to form a pile over each other before breaking spines and throwing fists.
One hit her at the back of the head and blood seeped down her mouth as she turned to punch him across the face.
She raised her head to look at the rest of the vampires. They didn't seem to be ending anytime soon.
"Tired, already?"
She raised her head to see Levi a few metres from her, a smile playing on her red lips.
"Go on and say that again. You can't, right? That's...because you definitely won't be able to get out of here."
Zuriña panted as she watched Levi smirk at her. What was she talking about?
"Surprised? All the vampires in the country are in the island now."
"Really? So that was why the number of vampires weren't decreasing." She thought.
She couldn't waste her energy there when she didn't even know what was on the upper floor.
She had to go up before she got more tired than that.
They were much.
Too much.
She was starting to get tired.
More vampires raced madly towards her and she kept punching and breaking bones. Terrible pain was shooting through her system and she realized it was because her body that had melted from the acid, was yet to recover yet. Even if it was just her fighting them, they got the upper hand in long fights like this. She needed to leave there as fast as she could.
"Well, look at that. You were acting all high and mighty while saying you're a pure-blooded vampire. So you were no more than this, then?"
Levi asked and she gritted her teeth. That bitch was asking for a beat down.
"Looks like I have to take over." She said and Zuriña turned to see her hovering towards her.
She raised her claws, ready to attack but was surprised when she turned to run her claws on the spine of her own men.
The bodies of the men dropped down and Levi turned to her, a smile playing on her lips. "Why did you...?"
"This is upsetting. Zuriña Anderson, have you forgotten me already?" She asked and Zuriña frowned. What was happening?
Levi's face slowly faded away and her eyes widened on seeing the face behind the disguise.
"Ash?"
Julian smiled. "That name is long gone. Call me Julian Scott."
"Why are you here?" She asked.
"The handsome detective guided me here." She said and folded her arms. "Rather, aren't you happy to see me? I'm sure I'll be a great help here." She said and Zuriña turned to look at the men who were closing in on them.
"Sorry, but let's save the greetings for later." She said with a short lived sigh of relief when she realized that even if Julian Scott was here, there were still too many of them.
At that rate, she'd lose Levi.
Two of the vampires flew towards her and she was about to attack them when their bodies suddenly went up in flames.
Confusion flooded her face for a moment before she recalled there was only one person who could do that and her head whipped round to see Vael, twirling his deck cards between his fingers.
"Now, do we have enough people?" He smiled.
