"Vael..."Her voice trailed off.
"Don't lower your guards. I believe you already, but all the vampires in the world are here and there's acid in the walls too. This is a really fun hotel."
"This shit like hotel..." Zuriña was saying.
"Let's make sure they close forever." Julian smiled as they lurched towards the trio.
Blood splattered everywhere and the smell encompassed the place as she kept sending kicks into the jaws of approaching vampires.
Vael looked like he was doing okay on his own but not Julian as she recalled her powers involved touching the enemy to kill them or use their appearance.
There was no way she could use her powers on every single one of them, she thought as she jumped towards them, smashing two jaws.
More vampires were looming over her and she turned to Julian. "Are you okay?"
"Why are you scared, Zuriña Anderson? Has fighting for so long weakened your heart?" She asked and turned to the men. "These guys can't attack me." She said and transformed back to Levi.
She was right. They couldn't attack her because of Levi's appearance.
"To think that the skin contact I secretly did a long time ago would be useful." She said and Zuriña turned in time, to slide down on the floor, avoiding the close attack of some vampires.
Vael turned to slip his hands into his pocket. "The fact that the attack towards you stopped, means that they will come to me." He said and both girls turned to see a group of vampires headed for Vael. "Good. Come."
"What are you doing, Vael? Take your hands off your pockets and fight." She yelled, wondering why on earth he was standing still, even when he knew he would be trampled by them as she fought against three vampires.
Vael slipped out deck cards on fire from his pocket, sending vampires who were near him on fire.
"So was that it? So annoying." Julian scoffed as she sank her fangs into a vampire's throat. "You're walking the easy path alone."
"The one who's walking the hardest path is me." Zuriña groaned as she smacked the face of one, dragging her claws along the place she had hit.
"Are you saying that to me?" Vale asked.
"But there's really no end to this." Julian muttered.
"That's why I prepared something." He said and they turned to see him bring out a pack of cards before sending them to the air.
"Um...Vael, don't do it."
"Impossible." Zuriña muttered under her breath and he was swift enough to grab the two girls to duck as the cards descended, killing every vampire they touched.
"I didn't know what you would like so I brought them all...You guys should be careful."
"You crazy bastard."Julian swore."That was close,you prick."
"You nearly killed us."
"It was all calculated, you know?" He said and pulled them up when his cards had done the necessary damage."But is this really okay?"
"That's why I told you earlier, there's no end to this." Zuriña said as she went flying to hit a nearing vampire on the stomach and he fell back on the rest.
"You're so dead when we get back, Vael." Julian screamed as she went to work. "If I knew it was this kind of place, I wouldn't have come."
"And you were the one who said okay and we should go. You think I knew it was this kind of place? Outta the way." He said before he raced over to save her from an attack. "Julian Scott. Move out of the way."
Few nearing vampires had them turn their backs to each other and she asked.
"Don't you think about that when you see Zuriña Anderson?"
"What?" He asked as he sent punches into someone's jaw.
Julian stuck out her foot, causing a vampire to trip before she raised her foot to smash him this death. "How amazing it is that I'm still breathing after fighting her?"
"Ah yeah, all the time." He paused to look over the dissipating bodies. "Looks like we've killed a lot."
"No...more will come." Zuriña said and as if they were waiting for her to say that before they started tropping in.
"Zuriña Anderson." Julian called and she turned to her.
"Huh?"
"Go now."
She grimaced. "What about you two? It will be hard if it's just two of you."
"Did you forget?"Julian asked as she flipped her hair. "We're the angels of death."
"The ones who led hundreds of these pricks." Vael added.
"Why are you helping me to this extent?"
"Because of revenge. Revenge for beating me up that day."
"What?" She asked.
"Don't think about that stuff and just go. You have more important things to do."
"Julian Scott, you block them at the front. I'll attack from behind." Vael said and she turned to glare at him.
"What? You're telling me to get hit first? Is that it?"
"Nah, you won't get hit. Do you have to be that cracked headed, Ash?" He chuckled, smashing the head of the vampire who came flying into his way.
"Sure, I'll crack that open head of yours, later."
"Thanks." She said and raced towards the stairs.
She discovered on arriving, that she was in vampire's landmark. She felt they were at least a dozen of them and they are getting closer.
She felt a strong presence approaching from where she hid.
Was it Yiannais Peterson?
She would attack first. She thought to herself as she hovered out of hiding.
She was surprised to see it was not Yiannais, but the detective, who was surprised as much as she was to see her.
"Detective..."
"Riña?"
"So it was you. Your smell was mixed with another person's blood smell, so I didn't recognize you....But what happened to your face?"
"I was covered in dust on my way here, but Riña..." He raised his hand to her face. "...your face is covered in injuries. Are you okay?"
"The acid splattered so..." She was saying when she suddenly remembered she was still on him and she hurriedly stood up, feeling a little embarrassed as she did. "Anyway I'm fine but why did you come here? We agreed to meet at the middle of the hallway."
"I lost my way...Let's go, if we go that way, we'll be out of this maze."
"Okay."
She turned to follow him out of the place when her eyes caught dissipated bodies of vampires along the way. That was rather weird, she didn't recall fighting vampires there.
"I'm a bit dirty, right?" He asked and she turned to him.
"Thank you." She replied and he turned to face her at the entrance of an elevator.
"The maze ends here."
"Where's Levi?"
"Levi is on the 40th floor. She won't have any place to run to above that." He replied.
"I thought she was an easy opponent but she prepared a lot to cover for her weakness.I don't know what's prepared for us but let's be careful."
"Let's go to Levi quickly." He said as he pressed the button to summon the elevator.
"Detective..." Her voice trailed off.
"The doors are opening." The elevator announcement came.
"Detective, promise me something."
"What promise?"
"When everything is over, let's go to a river and drink beer together...Before, I couldn't even imagine to have a drink at a river for a whole night."
"I don't think I've ever imagined it too."
"No, I always lived in despair before that. I joined the vampire division and worked so hard that there wasn't a day I slept properly. And the unchanging situation made it worse." He said and raised his hands to her shoulders before turning her to back him.
"Huh? Why are you saying that suddenly..."
"Give me a second. Don't look back, it takes all my courage to say this just hear me out...The day we first met, was the day out were crying over the body of a little child, who was murdered by a vampire... Do you remember?"
That had happened ages ago, she thought to herself and was surprised that was when he'd first seen her.
"You looked so sad and I never wanted to see you cry anymore so..." Her nose picked up the smell of blood and she slowly turned to the detective
"Detective..." She was saying when she spotted blood seeping down the detective's jaw.
"Let's drink beer all night long. All night... together..." He stuttered before passing out in her arms.
"Detective...Detective Kaiwan Miller..."
