Zuriña's claws elongated as they started swarm around her like bees. One of the men touched her and she slapped his hand off. "Don't touch me or do you have a death wish?"
Another man grabbed her shoulder with a smile.
"Ha, kitty thinks she has got claws."
A swift punch on the face sent him crashing on the ground and it sent the others in a frenzy. "Don't say I didn't warn you" She muttered as they made to attack her.
Detective, she called within her. Please live, I'll be there soon.
"Let's finish this quickly. I have beer to drink at the river."
A frown settled on Levi's brown as she watched Zuriña fight her way among the thousands of men.
"Zuriña Anderson. I had a reason to see you.
It has already been ten years since I met Yiannais." She said silently.
"Back then, I was sure he wasn't a person.
It is funny how he saved me so casually with a warm hand even in the middle of winter at the bridge...Was he a grim reaper? I had wondered back then. There wasn't no such thing as that in the world.
What was he? Was he a superhero who came from a movie?
I had stealthily been following him when he suddenly disappeared.
Now, that was strange, I had thought.
I had been sure he had been right in front of me but he had suddenly vanished. Where had he gone?
"Why are you curious about it?Do you feel I am not human? Do I look like a superhero?"
How did he know I was thinking about that? I had wondered.
"I can hear all of it."
"Huh?"
"And...I am not what you think I am
A monster." He had told me and made to sink his fangs into my neck.
I still didn't understand what was happening back then, but there was one thing I knew for sure.
"Why aren't you running away? Do you want to die?" He had asked me.
"Why are you saying that right after you jumped to save me? I know you won't kill me." That had been my response.
That if the guy before me didn't like me, I would have been dead before then.
He had said nothing and had left me there but I kept following him.
"Why are you following me?" He asked me after a while.
"You saved my life so you have to take responsibility. Can I come with you? I can do anything. I'm really good at cleaning and laundry."
"Don't follow me."
"Just give me food and a place to sleep. Then I'll do anything for you."
I believed I would never get hurt again if I was with him.
And when the first issue of rebellious vampires came up, I had volunteered myself. He had been skeptical about it as the angels of death were all scared to handle the situation, but had reluctantly let her go and I had ended up with a success and with time, he sent me on even more dangerous missions, all which I have never failed.
That was when I realized Yiannais' love for my grew as much as the amount of blood on my hands.
Then I suddenly remembered, I hadn't realized how time went by. So I looked back. I had never seen Yiannais smile.
I needed to do something.
He was the person who had saved me from hell and I needed to repay him for the love he had given me.
I had promised herself to make him smile so I had clenched her teeth and risked my life for more blood.
He eventually smiled, but it wasn't for me. It was for no other person but you and I swore I would definitely kill you, Zuriña Anderson."
One of her men kicked her from behind and she raised her hand to stop them.
"On October 1st, Yiannais who has absorbed your heart, will turn more than half of the country's population into vampires.Let's see, how you will use that power to stop this from happening."
She noticed Zuriña's hand tremble and she smiled. "What's this? You're nervous? Even the pureblood is nervous? But what should I do? There's an endless amount of these kids now. I think you'll tire out before they all die."
Zuriña suddenly yawned. "Are you done talking? You were a bit boring, so I dozed off for a bit...Let's end this in three seconds." She said and raised her hand.
How foolish, Levi thought within her. She had already hypnotized the men.
"Kneel." Zuriña ordered and to her surprise, all her men suddenly went on one knee, their heads bowed to her and Zuriña raised her head to her. "Is that all?"
That was impossible. It wasn't supposed to work since she had already hypnotized them.
The pureblood was so powerless downstairs, but why was her powers working now? She wondered.
"That's right. It's because of this..." Zuriña replied and raised her head to the crown of thorns she was putting on. "...This crown saved your life."
So that was how it was. The crown of thorns was blocking her power because of Zuriña Anderson's anger. That meant her powers were weak because she was putting that on.
"Get down here and Levi...The things that you do, love that you get from blood...isn't love."
"What?" She asked as she arched her brow. How did she know? So she had been listening to her while she fought.
"So you heard me through telepathy." She said as she hovered down to where Zuriña was.
Zuriña found it difficult to believe everything she had heard. "How could you hurt another person to get someone's love? That's really messed up." She said and Levi hit her hard across the face.
"Shut up. What do you know? Do you understand my pain?" She asked and hit her across the face again. "Have you ever felt love before? This is my love... This is my way of love."
"Wake up." Zuriña yelled and her eyes widened in shock. "Have you ever been happy with Yiannais Peterson even for a moment?"
"Die, bitch." She yelled and made to jab her across the stomach but missed and Zuriña hit her on the stomach in response.
Blood seeped out of Levi's mouth and she ran towards her again, trying to attack but Zuriña registered a fist on her nose, almost destroying it immediately.
"Let's end it here. I don't want to kill you,so tell me where Yian is."
She spat out blood as she rose. "Kiss my ass."
"Well, I guess I am left with no choice then." She said, grabbing her by the neck and sliding her foot under Levi's, sending her crashing to the floor with a loud noise.
Why was she so strong? She heard Levi ask herself. She couldn't see, nor breathe and neither could she avoid it.
"I knew it, I could never beat you." Levi said, inside of her and she walked to where she lay.
"Do you find my love funny?...I'll show you how determined I am for love, Zuriña Anderson." She panted.
"Shut up and tell me. Where's Yiannais Peterson?" She yelled and Levi slowly took out a switch from her bra as blood seeping out of her injuries.
"I don't need to explain it now...but there is acid flowing through this building. An acid like this... isn't too weak to melt you without a trace."
A frown settled on Zuriña's face."What are you going to do with that?"
"I told you, I will show you my love...I've been preparing this for you for years. From now on, I'll be pouring all the acid unto you...You can't escape even if your ancestors came." Levi breathed and her mind went back to the detective.
"No, Detective."
