In the Khanna mansion, Shekhar Khanna was sitting with a sullen look, his brows furrowed together, as he was in deep thought. All of a sudden he feels a jolt on his shoulder which breaks his trance, "what happened why are you shaking me ?"
"You were in such deep thought that your tea is cold, and I called you at least five times but you didn't reply. That is why I had to shake you."
"Oh! So sorry for it, please leave me alone and take this tea with you." Mr Khanna's forehead was creased. Something was bothering him.
"By the way what were you thinking? Are there any problems?" His wife was worried after seeing her husband.
"I was wondering why Khurrana industries are prying so much in our business and why are they taking hold of our companies. As you know this company is the fruit of Ravi's(Raj s father) hard-core labour. As much as I know Raj has signed all the papers before his death so I can't intervene. Nevertheless, the question why he did this is, that can not be answered." His hand was on his forehead and he was concentrating in a way that he was deciphering a puzzle.
" Why don't you talk to Ranjeet maybe he knows something"
"He was the one who informed me. Rajan doesn't know anything. I had asked Ranjeet to meet the CEO of the Khurrana's."
Ranjeet drove to Khurrana's office. It was a massive building in the heart of town near his own office. The reception was an aesthetically designed area. He was greeted by a charming lady,"good morning sir, how may I help you?"
"Good morning, I have an appointment with Mr Khurrana"
"Ok sir, please wait I will just find out" "
She buzzed through her intercom and inquired.
"Sir, you may go, he is expecting you. Please go straight and at the end of the corridor turn right and there is the elevator, the tenth is the floor. Have a great day sir."
He nodded and went away.
As soon as the elevator pinged there was another smart and elegant looking.
" Welcome sir. Boss is expecting you".
The area was quieter and better decorated, simple yet attractive, a combination of grey and sky blue was bestowing it a serene and peaceful look. Thereupon moving through a long aisle they reach a door, "sir you may go in, the boss is expecting you. Good day sir."
Rajan knocked on the door and then went, he was engrossed in his work "good morning Mr Khurrana."
"Good morning Mr Khanna. Please have a seat. What makes you come here."
"I would like to know why are you trying to get hold of my company and who gave you the power of attorney."
"Oh! Mr Khanna, I didn't know that you were so ignorant, I cannot get hold of everything until and unless it is signed by your CEO, I mean late Mr Raj Kapoor, have a look." With that, he passes the papers to Ranjeet. Ranjeet studies the papers and upon seeing Raj's signature he was furious.`` How can he do this?"
"So I think everything is clear now you may go. ".He stood up and turned, indicating that the meeting was over.
Ranjeet leaves the office banging the door behind him.
Naman with a victorious smile calls Sujata, "hi sis, how is life. Did you pay the visit to the doctor?" Tension loathed in his voice.
"Going very well, yes I did." Biting her lower lip, she was a hell of confused about how to convey the news to Naman.
"Hey, where are you? I had asked you so many times what did the doc say?" Naman was getting worried as Sujata was not answering.
"Sorry for not responding. Well, he said everything is fine." Pauses for a few seconds, "hmmm she said I'm well, expecting a child"
"What" Naman exclaimed.
"You heard it right. I am expecting it. It is Rajs and mine. I was confused in the beginning, but then I thought I will carry the child as he is part of me." Sujata told everything to Naman in a go.
"Sujata, I never want you to abort it. I am happy for you. It was least expected and that is why I was taken aback. Congratulations, take good care of yourself." His voice was laced with excitement.
"Thanks now, tell me why you called."
"Ranjeet had come, I had shown him all the legal documents that were signed by Raj. He believes in everything and I think he will call Rajan or you, better be on the lookout. And how is the old lady doing." Naman explained everything to her.
"Ok I will keep a check and yes she is doing fine." What should we do now?" She questioned Naman about their next step.
"I will let you know. For time being announce this news and enjoy their attention towards you, bye for now. " Naman ended their conversation.
"Bye. ". She cut the call and advanced towards the dining table as it was lunchtime and she was feeling hungry. She wanted to announce the news to Simmi and Rajan.
" Hello both of you, I have gone to the hospital today." She spoke in a gloomy tone. Her eyes were twinkling.
Hearing this Simmi gave a questioning look to her.
" Your ma is like that only no progress. I think let us Stop the treatment as such there is no improvement, why waste money." Sujata spoke with a not so interesting tone.
Rajan snapped at her "I did as you told me to and now you want to stop her treatment. What are you up to? Why are you doing this to us?"
"I'm not answerable to you. I
have come here to have my lunch and yes I wanted to make an announcement, I'm pregnant with your brother's child." She snapped back at Rajan.
On hearing this there were tears of joy streaming in their eyes. Before they could enjoy the news, Sujata dropped a bomb on their happiness by saying that she is thinking of aborting this child. This stunned both of them and they started pleading with Sujata not to do so.
Subsequently, after their numerous pleadings, she agreed on the condition that whenever she asks them to do something they both will agree to it.
