After months of being away, Lucian and Denise returned to the Red moon pack.
“I thought you had wanted to spend the rest of your lives away from the pack” Bella commented immediately she saw them. She gave Denise a big hug and a slight hug to Lucian to avoid Coast’s jealousy.
“Alpha” Lucian greeted Coast.
“What took you guys so long?” he asked him. They had been gone for months and he was beginning to think that he didn’t want to return and wished to stay with his mate. Being his Gamma he couldn’t overreact about it but he knew that Lucian had overstayed.
“A lot actually happened” Lucian answered in regard of what happened between Cabello and him.
“Where is your uncle Cabello, did he finally accept Lucian” Bella asked in hopes to get a good news. She believed that was the only reason they were together because Cabello had finally accepted their union and they were getting along as a family. He was against it before and that was why he took Denise away but now that they were together, she could only guess that he was cool with it now.
“My Uncle Cabello is dead” Denise informed and there was a minute of silence and awkwardness among them as Bella and Coast began to wonder what actually happened to him.
Bella wanted to ask what happened but seeing Denise’s face, she knew it wasn’t time to do so.
“My condolences” she said instead.
“Well now that you are back, I do have a friend to communicate with. She is staying in the castle with us right?” Bella asked Lucian.
“She is” he replied seeing how excited she looked.
“I thought I was your best friend” Coast said feeling jealous that she wanted to spend time with Denise from now on and not him.
“You are but I need a female friend too, since Elaine left I have been a bit lonely” she replied and he gave up instantly. Coast knew she was right, all she had was her books and him. Before she had a choice to hang out with Luther but now that he was gone, she was lonely with no one else to talk to other than him.
“It has been ages since I last saw you Lucian” A voice said joining them, Lucian was so shocked when he saw Adeline walk towards him and hugged him. He looked at Coast who had a dark expression on his face.
“The last time I saw you, you were this small. Look at how big you have grown” she commented.
Lucian just had to fake a smile to her but he couldn’t stop staring at Coast demanding for a good reason why she was there when he could remember that she was clearly banished for the things she did.
“Bella take Denise with you, Lucian I will like to have a word with you” Coast ordered and everyone dispersed leaving Adeline stranded like that.
“What the hell is she doing here?” Lucian asked once they got to Coast office.
“She came by four days ago asking for forgiveness” he answered.
“Don’t tell me you forgave her, you wouldn’t do such a thing to a woman who made your life miserable” Lucian asked. Being the Gamma’s son, his late father had told him of all the things Adeline did because at that moment he was still very small to notice it.
“No, I can never forgive her. I feel she is here for another motive and that is why she is staying in the castle. I and Bella are keeping an eye on her to see if she is sincere but if she isn’t then she would be killed before she gets the chance to harm us” he stated.
“So you are saying that the only reason she is here is because you want to kill her yourself?” Lucian summarized everything.
“Yes” he replied.
“Well, they did say keep your enemies closer which is not a bad idea. I did think banishment was too good for because she was getting a chance at a new life but now that she is back, she can pay for the things she did” Lucian added understanding the whole reason why Adeline stayed in the castle, it was because they wanted to monitor her.
“I have a request from you though” Coast uttered
“Anything” he replied.
“Can you keep an eye on her for me, it would be easy to find out what she is up to if someone else is watching her” Coast requested knowing he could count on him to do a perfect job.
“No problem”
“How about Cabello, what really happened to him?” he asked again resting his head on his arms to listen to Lucian.
“He tried to harm my mate so I killed him” Lucian answered.
“Denise is okay with that?” He asked.
“Yes, he almost killed her. I couldn’t watch it and do nothing” Lucian answered.
“Hmm” Just like Coast had thought, he knew Lucian would be the one to end Cabello’s life one way or another if he dare messed with him.
“And I was worried about you over nothing” he commented looking glad that his Gamma was back.
“Aren’t you going to thank me for coming back” Lucian teased him.
“I should be punishing you for staying this long without informing me” Coast rather replied.
“True, I am sorry. I will be taking my leave now” He excused himself and left.

Bella invited Denise to her home so that they could talk about.
“Sorry about me intruding but what really caused the death of your Uncle Cabello?” She asked.
“Lucian killed him” Denise replied sharply and Bella’s jaw dropped in shock of what she had just heard.
“He did what?” She yelled.
“Don’t get it wrong, he killed him to save my life. Apparently Cabello was not okay with me being a wolf and much worse being mated to the man who actually changed me. So he tried to kill me which he almost did” Denise said touching her neck where Cabello had slashed her.
“This is absurd, do you think he had that in mind and that was why he took you away?” Bella inquired not understanding why Cabello would take Denise away from her mate without a trace.
“I don’t think so, before he tried to kill me, he told me that he had searched for a cure for both of us but couldn’t find any so that was why he wanted to end our lives” she answered feeling sad about it. Cabello was the only family she had and now he was lost to her.
“He also tried to end his life, if he wanted to do that then why did he involve you in it?” Bella asked.
“Because of what my mother told him, she had instructed him to take care of me and not let me turn into the wolves that attacked our family and turned him” she answered.
“May I ask what was their eye colour, wolves wouldn’t just attack homes like that?” Bella inquired.
“Yellow, bright yellow” she replied.
“I know what you went through was tough, you were betrayed by the only family you have. Trust me I have been there and I know exactly how you feel.
If it makes you feel any better, maybe your mother was warning your Uncle to not let you turn into a beast.
The wolves that attacked your family were Rogues and maybe she was scared that you might end up being one of them. Rogues may be wolves but they are cannibalism creatures that can’t control their desire to kill. You are a wolf which means you are okay, you may not have let your mom down because you didn’t turn out like the Rogues who attacked your family” Bella stated and Denise felt comforted by her words. She never thought of it that way but now that she did actually felt proud of what she had become.
“Thank you Bella, I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my chest. I am much better now” She stated with a smile.
“I am so glad that you are back, we can have some bonding time together” Bella giggled a bit.
“How about Elaine and the Beta?” Denise asked noticing they weren’t around.
“Well they are in America taking care of our business, they will be back soon” Bella answered.
“Welcome back Denise” She held her hands.
