Bella was in the doctor’s office after they had rushed Coast to the hospital.
“Will he be okay” she asked bitterly, Bella couldn’t bare the thought of anything bad happening to Coast, she knew it would break her.
“I am so sorry Luna” the doctor apologized sorry for the news she was about to tell her.
“What’s wrong tell me” She said.
“Well the Alpha has been poisoned” the doctor stated.
“What do you mean poisoned?” She asked.
“I don’t know what kind of poison it is yet but it’s extremely effective and almost left no trace. It has suppressed the wolf in him and made him lose his abilities. Alpha Coast is pretty much human now” the doctor stated. After running a few tests, she almost couldn’t find what was going on with Alpha Coast until she remembered that she once had a patient going through the same symptoms and it turned out to be poison.
“So he was poisoned” Bella said. Yesterday she was almost poisoned if Adeline hadn’t saved her so they decided to poison Coast of which they have succeeded because he was lying lifeless in the hospital ward.
“But you do have a cure for him right?” She asked.
The doctor held her head down, it hadn’t been long since the previous patient and she still hadn’t been able to get a cure. The patient stated for months before the poison weared off and he was back again but with a little side effect.
“I haven’t been able to find a cure yet Luna” the doctor.
“What the hell, what is that supposed to mean. That my mate is going to die. You want your Alpha to die” Bella yelled at her.
“No never, what I am saying is that I am yet to find a cure for it. I assure you Luna that I will start working on it” she said.
“Am I supposed to wait for that, I need the cure now. My mate cannot remain like this” Bella barked so hard.
“The truth is the poison will wear off but it would take a long time” she said.
“How long?” Bella asked.
“Months” she answered with her head hung low, she couldn’t bear the thought of looking Bella in the eye because she looked damn scary over her mate’s health.
“Months!” She yelled.
“Or we could find who ever poisoned him and ask for the antidote” she suggested.
Bella paused, how the hell was she going to find the antidote when she didn’t even know who poisoned the Alpha. She was totally confused on what to do.
“Is there anyone you have in mind who might have poisoned the Alpha” the doctor asked.
Bella had only one person in mind that would be able to do that, ‘Adeline’. But why would she poison Coast when she saved her from being poisoned.
She returned back to Coast’s ward after the discussion with the doctor, he was still lifeless on the bed without uttering a word or even moving. Seeing him that way caused a tear drop out of her eyes. Her own mate was almost at the point of death and yet she couldn’t do anything to help him. Bella had never thought a day like this would come, she may have treated his tiny fevers in the past but all that was because they were seperated, after they were together not once has he been sick forcing himself not to heal.
She stood by him and held his hand, she wished he could atleast open his eyes and signify that he was okay but there was no such reaction from him making her scared about him.
“Please wake up Coast, I need you” she pleaded resting her head on his chest, she could hear his faint heartbeat. That was the only thing that helped her know that he was alive otherwise she would go into a frenzy over his death.
“We have been through a lot together, don’t let this separate you from me, I really need you Coast” she stated crying her heart out on him. She needed him back, even though it had not been up to a day since he was poisoned she was already missing him.
“Please wake up Coast, I am begging you” she stated but he couldn’t hear a word she said.
She raised her head to look at him, she didn’t like to see him looking that way.
“Be strong Bella” Diamond her wolf encouraged her to hold up herself in front of Coast.
“How do you expect me to be strong when my mate is lying down almost at the point of death” she said.
“I know that I and I feel everything you feel but we are not going to get anything from crying, it is just like the doctor said, we have to find out who did this to him and get the antidote from them” Diamond adviced her.
“How do I even begin that?” She asked.
“I don’t know, I have a bad feeling about this Bella, whoever caused this to Alpha Coast going to bring ruins to all of us. I can feel it in my guts” Diamond commented.
“I should speak to Lucian about this and find a way to catch the culprit” she stated.
“That’s a good idea” Diamond agreed and they were about to leave when the door opened.
“Coast” Adeline cried walking in, she rushed to his side immediately.
Bella just stood there looking at her, she didn’t react that way so why was Adeline acting so much.
“Who did this to you?” she yelled hard. She looked at Coast then turned to Bella and hugged her,
“I know it must be hard for you to see your mate this way.
What did the doctor say, have she found the cause?” she asked.
“The doctor said he was poisoned” Bella answered with a dampener mood.
“Poisoned, how is that even possible?” Adeline exclaimed in shock.
“I don’t know, the doctor claims to have no cure and all that is left now is to find the culprit and demand for the antidote” Bella relayed to her. She didn’t even where to start and neither did she want to leave Coast’s side.
“Leave this to me, you can stay here with Coast in case he wakes up. I will search for the culprit” Adeline informed and left before Bella could utter a word to contradict her.
