Chapter 65

/Henry/

"Andy, here is my wife Samantha, and Samantha, I'm Andy, the new wide receiver." "Andy, this is my wife Samantha." I said nodding at him.

She gave a grin that was just a tad awkward. "Indeed, we have already conversed. So Andy, you're a member of the team, right? "She inquired in a cordial manner.

He stared at us with a surprised expression. "Wife? Are the two of you married? That's why people call you Williams, right? I thought, well, yes, I guess it makes sense. I guess I should go get cleaned up "he added while trying to hide his discomfort.

Zane swung his arm around his shoulder as he started walking away as the man turned and walked away. "Don't worry about that, man; if she weren't married, all of us would have asked her out on that. Henry is not in the least bit hurt "he said while giving me a sly grin and laughing.

Your friends are a bunch of man-whores, that's for sure. As I started walking again, Samantha chuckled and gently pressed her forehead against mine.

I tucked my hands into the small of her back and interlaced them. "I know. I am very relieved that I have never considered women as sex objects in any way." I joked.

She guffawed as she hugged me very hard. She inquired with much enthusiasm, "Would you like to go grocery shopping after you're done here?"

"Without a doubt, Samantha bear. Are you going to be a good little wife and make me something nice to eat tonight? I'd really appreciate it." I asked grinning.

She then ended the talk by pressing her lips once more to mine and saying, "Sure baby, whatever you want." As soon as we entered the locker rooms, I shoved her against the wall outside and gave her a passionate kiss. Because I was getting so into it, I almost forgot where we were; gosh, that lady of mine drove me crazy!

"Henry, put your girl down and get the hell in here and shower, I don't have time to wait around for you two to finish making out," the man said. "I don't have time to wait around for you two to finish making out." The team's coach could be heard laughing along with the rest of the players from inside the dressing room.

I gave her a foolish grin and then ignored her without making any attempt to make contact. I removed some of the mud that was on her clothes and asked her, "Wait here for me, all right?" I said while staring at her in a demanding manner. I couldn't stand it when she was out of my sight because if something were to happen to her, I would lose the one and only thing in my life that has ever mattered to me.

"Since I failed to return my History textbook earlier when I should have, I'm going to dash out to the nearest library right away. However, by the time you step out of the shower, I will have returned." She repeated, nibbling my lips once more.

"Ok well meet me here then." After giving her a peck on the head, I went inside to take a refreshing shower because I knew I would have to wait a while before I would be able to touch her again. I didn't want to feel like I was some kind of horny jack rabbit or something while I was at the store.

After a speedy shower, I joined the other members of the team in putting on our uniforms. "So tell me, are you going to have a housewarming party or what?" Jerry inquired with elation.

I couldn't help but scowl; Samantha and I hadn't discussed the matter, but I didn't want random individuals coming in and making a mess of our home. Wow, I was growing incredibly responsible as I got older, and being married was making me into a bore.

"I don't know, man, but it's probably not, because it's not that large for a lot of people to begin with. It may be fun to have some people around for a movie and some takeout food or anything like that." I recommended. I thought without a doubt that Samantha would agree with you there.

Wow, as a couple you guys are rather daring, what with the movie and the takeout. Jerry joked.

"Who cares, you're just green with envy. In any case, how are things doing with Susan?" As we exited the changing room door, I asked them my question. I sought for Samantha right away, but I couldn't find her anywhere. She hadn't arrived back yet. It was twenty past five when I looked at my watch; she ought to have arrived home from the library by now.

Jerry let out a sigh, "I don't know dude, she blows hot then cold, and I don't know what I'm doing wrong and what I'm doing right with that chick. I don't know what I'm doing right with her. My sanity is in danger because of her." He looked downcast and shook his head.

I grinned, "According to what I've been informed, you do something extremely impressive with your hands; nevertheless, you shouldn't tell her that I taught you to do so. Samantha cautioned me not to discuss it further under any circumstances." I said while smiling at him as I gave him a shoulder punch.

"By using my hands? I don't know what the hell to do with my hands "He queried in a befuddled state.

I smiled and said, "No idea man, but apparently Susan really likes it, so maybe you should focus on that." I was referring to her opinion of the product. When he finally understood what I was talking about, I raised both of my eyebrows in a questioning manner.

"I had no idea! Yeah she does like that. What did she say to Samantha, damn it? Wow, you must really like me "he added while chuckling and appearing a little smug with his accomplishment.

"That's not something I want to discuss, and I've made it clear to Samantha that she shouldn't bring it up either. I'm simply providing you with some helpful advice to improve your chances of snagging the lady, but if you could keep it a secret from Susan, it would be greatly appreciated. I don't want Samantha to get in trouble for breaking the girl code or whatever else they might have." I said shrugging.

"I won't, but I'll phone Susan right now to find out if she's available later on tonight. I'll report back to you tomorrow with the results. Many thanks, Henry!" As he walked away while talking to her, he quickly opened the conversation on his mobile phone and flashed a grin.

I gave her a bright grin and waited for a few more minutes before I allowed myself to feel some concern for Samantha. Where the devil could she be? There was no reason for her not to have returned from the library by this time.

I quickly pulled out my mobile phone and dialed her number, but her phone was off. Oh my god, I have no idea why the hell she has her mobile phone turned off. As I made my way towards the library, my anxiety began to rise. But Blake certainly would not have come here, not even into the school. Because he would be aware that I was with her, he wouldn't risk going against me again for fear of being discovered.

I slammed the door shut behind me as I entered the library at full speed, nearly ripping it off its hinges. While Samantha was helping the librarian put books back on the shelf, the librarian and Samantha shared a giggle.

As I ran in, they both glanced at me, and I could see that I must have appeared to be an idiot in front of them. "Hey Henry, I'm impressed with how quickly you bathed." Samantha remarked while staring at me with bewilderment.

"Fast? Samantha bear, the time is getting close to ten to five."

She grimaced in pain and then glanced at me in an embarrassed manner. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize. I was assisting Mrs. Sing with the books at the time."

"There is no need to be concerned about it." I replied that while I was trying not to reveal the panic that I had felt earlier, I was being dumb and overprotective, and she detested both of those qualities in me.

"Then you two ought to get going immediately. I'd like to express my gratitude for the assistance provided by Samantha, and if you're genuine about providing it, then I'll see you tomorrow." Mrs. Sing remarked beaming happily.

"It's not as bad as sitting outside in the wind and watching Henry get beaten up, that's for sure. I cannot stand it when I see that." Samantha moaned in discomfort as she placed the books she was holding back onto the shopping cart and moved over to stand by my side.

"I'll bet, see you tomorrow then," was the response given. Mrs. Sing remarked smiling gently.

"Bye, bye for now." Samantha greeted me with her voice as she wrapped her arm around my waist. I gave her a friendly grin as we made our way toward the exit, and as we did so, I stared at her inquisitively, wondering what was going on. She gave me a reassuring grin before continuing, "I volunteered at the library after school when you have practice, I hope that's okay."

Oh, so that's what I was thinking of! "Yeah? It's a nice plan, but I'll miss seeing you cheering from the stands. That being said, it's a good idea." I responded by mockingly pouting at her.

She was quite happy "You'll be able to focus and have a more effective game without me around to distract you. I'm sorry to be the one to break it to you, but ever since we started working together, your game has been terrible." She made me chuckle with her teasing.

"Wow, Samantha bear, you sure know how to stroke my ego!" I rolled both of my eyes. "When you didn't come back, I started to worry that something bad had happened," you said. I admitted.

She reprimanded Henry, "Stop worrying; you'll give yourself an ulcer," and she shook her head in disapproval as she spoke.

"I called you, but your cell phone was off; does it need to be charged or is there something else wrong with it?" I asked, shrugging my shoulders and completely disregarding her comment. I'm sorry if I irritated her with how worried I was, but after all, that is my job now, right? Is it wrong for a man to be concerned about the well-being of his wife?

She stopped and looked at me in an awkward manner while muttering, "Oh sh*t."

I gave her a grin and looked at her, expecting her to inform me that she had misplaced yet another cell phone or some other item. One of Samantha's quirks was that her cell phones never lasted longer than six months before they were either lost or broken, and she has always been the same way.
