Chapter Happy ending

Deanara’s POV

“Where’s Engr. Elizalde?” I asked the team who just came back from the first island. I met them in the coffee shop inside the hotel to discuss the plans.

I haven’t visited the islands because I was waiting for Gray. He told me that we will start visiting the islands today, but when I woke up he was no longer in the room. He just left breakfast for me. He didn’t inform me about his whereabouts.

I am not being demanding since I am not his girlfriend but as his partner I think I deserve to know where he is going especially that we still have a lot of things to do.

I don’t want to call him so he should be responsible for his actions. Damn him!

“I thought he’s with you.” The team leader answered. I am still having a hard time memorizing their names.

“I thought, too.” I replied. “Anyway, let us just start with the plan.”

It took us hours before we finished our meeting. After that, they already went since they still needed to catch the boat going to the island. That’s when I realized something. Gray is a billionaire, he can buy everything so I decided to call him. This time, I have reason to call him but he is out of reach.

What? Where is he now? Damn him! He isn’t answering his phone. What the hell is with him?

I texted him instead, asking to buy a yacht for us going to the island so it wouldn’t be hard for us or well he can just bring his private plane.

It was already sunset but Gray wasn’t around and I am so bored inside the room. I missed his presence and I really want to see him even though he pisses me off at times. I am also getting worried so I decided to call his secretary.

“Hi?” I said. “This is Ms. Samaniego. Mr. Elizalde is not here and I want to know where he is since he is not answering his phone and we still have a lot of things to do.”

“Oh. Yeah. Mr. Gray told me to schedule a flight to Palawan a while ago.”

“Palawan?” I raised an eyebrow. “What is he doing in Palawan?” I curiously asked. “Is that for business?”

“Ah. No. He told me he would visit Ms. Escobar.”

“Ms. Escobar?”

I think I heard that name before.

“Ms. Vivian Escobar.”

I hung up the phone as soon as I heard her name. Fuck! Gray is doing it again. He told me he loves me and here he is going to Vivian. Now, how could I believe him? I am really tired of him. I was right. I should have never trusted him again. Maybe, he is just fooling me. It’s still Vivian. Damn him!

I cried for an hour until I got tired and realized it’s no longer worth it so I stopped. I also don’t want him to see me crying because of him. I should be over him now. I should stop this craziness. I really need to get away from him. He is really killing my peace of mind.

“Hey, you cried?” Ethan checked up on me while we were having a video call. I decided to turn around the couch so I would be facing the city lights while talking to Ethan.

I inserted the earphone and shook my head.

“Gray is still seeing Vivian.” I told him.

“What do you mean by that?” Ethan was confused.

“He’s not here and when I asked her secretary she told me that Gray flew to Palawan to see Vivian.”

Ethan raised his brow. “Did she tell you what it was about?”

I wagged my head. “I didn’t ask. Duh! I don’t want to get hurt.”

“Do you think they are still together, is that it, that is why you are crying?” He asked.

“Yeah. He told me he loves me then one second he’s with Vivian. What do you want me to expect?”

“But…” Ethan brushed his head, confused. “Damn that Vivian! She’s really a cheater!”

“What do you mean by that?”

“Vivian is already married.”

“What?” I widened my eyes. “Then, Gray is…”

“Vivian married the guy who got her pregnant.”

“Wait…” I stopped him. “So, aside from Gray, she was fucking with another guy?”

Ethan nodded. “Yeah. She’s not really worth it.”

“Yet Gray kept on going to her.” I frowned. “She must be worth it.”

“Maybe, as friends? He visited her as friends since they were really friends before they became together.”

“I doubt that.” I bitterly said. “I don’t know what I should believe.” I sighed.

“Why not ask him?” Ethan urged me. “Clarify things.”

“What should I clarify?” I rolled my eyes. “We are here again. I have evidence, okay? He was cheating on me with Vivian.”

“Let’s stop pretending, okay? Settle your issues with my brother.”

“No!” I told Ethan. “We are not going to stop pretending, okay?”

“Deanara. C’mon. Tell him the truth.”

“What?” I eyed him over the phone. “How am I gonna tell him?”

“Tell what happened and tell him you still love him. Do you still love Gray?”

“Of course. I love Gray.” I admitted it. “I always do.”

“Then, tell him.”

“What am I supposed to tell him? That I didn’t trust him? That I was jealous? I let my emotions crawl in me. That I should have let him explain and clarify things? That I should have not overthink?” I hissed in frustration while Ethan continued to urge me.

“You cannot even reconcile with your brother.”

“We’re different. I gave him a lot of damage and it wouldn’t just heal. Yours is different from ours. You can still get a happy ending with him.”

“So, what am I supposed to do? Tell him that I lied. We lied. We are never really together. We never cheated that --”

I almost fell from my seat when I heard Gray’s voice.

“What did you just say?”
