Iris's POV.
"I never thought it would be difficult stuff to convince the council that the pack should be merged." Gamma Lauren looked at me, he showed up this morning saying that he was going to take me to my Pack.
I know the reason he wanted to, he was still feeling very guilty about what happened and through our ride to the pack, he kept apologizing for not protecting me to the best of his ability.
Crazy between the both of us who is in the better position to protect anyone? He is a gamma while I am an alpha.
"You wouldn't blame them, they are just scared that Alpha Rupert might treat them the same way he treated his pack member."
"I have promised them, that nothing of such will happen, I also hope that Rupert's pack members accept so it will be just one pack to deal with."
"Come on stop stressing yourself, Alpha Rupert can handle it and you don't want Rupert to have my head on the table if anything happens to his pup under my watch. Remember I am still under probation, you wouldn't want me to get into more trouble do you?" I turned my gaze to him and smiled at him.
"Why are you so scared of Rupert?"
"I am not scared of him, I am only scared that he might end my life before I meet my mate and I want to have a pup like everyone in the family before I joined my ancestors." I tittered at the cunning words of Lauren, when we got to Wildfang Shadow moon pack, Lauren hurriedly opened the door for me, I stepped out, and he was walking behind
"Gamma Lauren, you can leave, I will find my way to my quarters."
"Please, don't try to persuade me, I will not go back from here." I didn't want to push it, if walking me back to Rupert's room with put him at ease, then I should have let him, Alpha Rupert was resting lazily when we arrived.
"Rupert, you are here?" He nodded pulling me into a hug.
"I was about to leave, but I thought of seeing you first." She cupped my face and kissed my forehead. "Did they agree?" I shake my head sadly. "Don't worry about then, I will meet up with them with beta Drake and convince so that I am going to be a good leader to them?"
"You will do that?" I raised my head to look at him, he brushed his lips against mine.
"You know I will and I will never let you face that stress alone."
"I love you." I mouthed claiming his lips in mine.
"I think at this point, I have to leave."
"And who left you off the hook?" Rupert's teasing voice came up, back then I thought Rupert was the devil himself, I didn't realize he could be all friendly and easygoing. "You will have to stay here, I want to see beta, Mason."
"I want to come as well." Rupert looks at me. "Please..." I pout with my puppy eyes.
"Fine, let's go. Once Rupert made up his mind, he packed little food for me, he seemed to know that my craving for food was something unbearable for even a minute.
The naughty Rupert asked that Lauren follow behind with the meal while using the car, while he grabbed me in his hand, jumping off the tall buildings and trees, it was like we were flying.
We arrive at Mason's mansion, I haven't been to his quarter. The interior was beautiful, while admiring the interior, I heard footsteps, and I turned to look where the sound of the footstep was coming, it was Mason, walking from a distance.
My heart skipped, he looked all different, he was more handsome, and his hair was longer like Rupert's, even though he looked unkempt, that handsomeness of him was obvious.
"Alpha Iris." His voice didn't change and that calm aura I smelled around him was still there but now his canines were different, he was looking sinful and heavenly.
"Beta Mason." I wanted to go closer to him, but he took a step back. He turned his gaze to Rupert, his hand was shaking and he was sweating, it seemed I was the first female he had seen since he became a vampire, now I understood, this place was deep and dark. "Why did you bring her here? You know that I am a beast now?"
I pinned my lips together, I felt guilty, he was like this because of me. For some reason, I feel that I should never have survived that.
"Stop talking nonsense, you are not a beast, if you were, why aren't you pouncing on her." Rupert said.
"You think I couldn't?" He growled, he flicked his tongue across his canines, taking a footstep closer to me, but he turned from me, he hit the wall.
"I am sorry." My voice was cleared he turned to me. "It's all my fault, if I hadn't been stupid, you wouldn't gone there to look for me, Rupert would have been able to control himself and he wouldn't have bit you and turned..." My tears drop.
"Iris, it's not your fault and I am not mad at you or Rupert, I am just scared that I might not be able to control it, I don't want to go into a rampage, I don't want to hurt anyone, especially Ariana." This time Rupert pulled him into a hug, and he cried on Rupert's shoulder.
"If you are not mad at me, let me teach you how to live with the new creature." Mason hadn't replied before Ariana ran in.
"Iris, I am glad you came." She said hugging me, I could feel the pain that she must have gone through, these past days knowing that her mate was avoiding her.
"Everything will be fine." I run my hand in her hair, she doesn't need this stress, especially now that her bump is growing
"I am sorry Ariana." Mason's voice came up, Ariana wanted to go to him but I noticed that he was taking a step back, I held Ariana's hand before she could go to him.
"Come on, let's go with them." She gave me a small smile, as we walked behind them. When we got to the garden, we both sat there as we watched Rupert teach him how to master his speed and the use of his energy, we both know Mason is a strong fellow and his speed is fast but it's not comparable to Rupert's. Rupert is faster, he can detect Mason's movement and avoid his strike, sometime I and Ariana will laugh at how frustrated he is. “Look at the way Mason is sweating."
We both giggle as he tries to catch up with Rupert's speed.
"You see they are laughing at you." Rupert said.
"Why will they do that?"
"You are the worst vampire they have ever seen?"
"Aren't you supposed to teach me instead of mocking me?" Mason growled at him, it seemed that Mason had developed a temper since he became a vampire.
"Come on, you should be the one teaching me, I heard your grandfather was a full-blooded vampire, you are supposed to be teaching me not the other way round I understand everything is new to you, but that is not the reason you couldn’t strike or move at my pace, you not just channeling your energy on it and your mind is not open to your new findings. There is what we call will, that is not in you." Rupert's voice was full of sarcasm but he was right.
"Alpha Rupert, since when did you become talkative?" I and Ariana smiled, we were enjoying their training and conversation.
"When your mind and power aren't working together, there is nothing good you could achieve, you just have to put your inner strength into use, don't let your opponent calculate your move, like this." I and Ariana was surprised by how fast Rupert was, taking Mason unaware.
"Where the fuck did you go?" He touched his shoulder behind him, Mason turned, and the look on his face caused us to titter.
"Stop laughing at me, I could do more too." That was the first time, we saw the character that he used to possess before all this happened.
"Now let's see how bold the beta of wildfang shadow moon Pack is?" We watch Mason's eyes shut probably imagining that he is standing behind him, and just like that Mason is standing behind Rupert.
Now I understand the words when there is a will there is a way. Although Mason isn't as fast as Rupert, it seems he is getting better and the sun's rays are going down, Rupert and Mason suddenly appear beside I and Ariana.
"Is time to go home, we don't want our mate and pup to fall sick." They both said taking their mate's hand in theirs.
