Iris's POV.
Oh Cathy, always saying things, she doesn't even though if the young lady was just Lauren's fling, but I doubt, Lauren will not have bring her here, if she is just his fling.
The young lady finally introduced himself as Alice and then the party took off It was getting so late at night.
One of the guards, took to the stage after every one of us had sat with our mate, except Celina that is not with her mate but former alpha Oscar was sitting close to her, to make her feel comfortable while former Luna Oscar was sitting close to the crib even though the four pups were sleeping. "Let the game Begin?" The guards said.
The first game begins, with the guards giving instructions, while the omega passed a sheet of paper and pen to the females, we are to write the words that our partners whispered to us. Of course, it will not be easy to get the words written but we will try especially with the loud music going on.
"No cheating on the part of any females, that may lead to instant disqualification. You should only write what your partner said. Each couple will have an omega beside them. The winner will have a prize while the loser will be punished. Unfortunately, we are not disclosing the punishment yet." The guards keep giving instructions. "At this point, the male will the female as many things they know about babies, knowing that we talking about babies. In the count of three, two, one...and go."
Lauren was finding it difficult to get the right words for babies, no matter how hard he tried to give names to the words, he couldn't find the right words and Alice was trying to help him even when they said no cheating, the frustration on Alice's face was enough to show how frustrated she is. "Baby think harder." She encouraged causing the other couples to laugh.
One would have thought that, the fact that Campbell had a pup would be easy for him but with just four words the wolf's brain was shattered, nothing was forthcoming, Cathy looked at him and then the words she had written from his whisper. "Just this?" Her voice was soft but sarcastic. If Cathy is allowed she would have cut off Campbell's ear for being a father yet had zero knowledge about the babies.
Drake and Susan on the other hand are just like Lauren, the young man doesn't even have an idea of one word, and Susan isn't able to scold him because she too seems not to have an idea about babies, what is the essence of getting mad at another when she have no idea.
Former Alpha Oscar was Celina's partner, although she didn't want to join the game before but former Luna Oscar said that she is not joining and that she prefers to just sit beside the pups. The new grandpa seemed to be doing well, and Celina who is never happy was smiling, I know former Luna Oscar didn't want to join because of Celina so she doesn't feel left out.
Mason and Ariana, seemed to be more relaxed than me and Rupert who was giving names without blinking, watching those two, I could tell they would be the winner of the game, Mason was the Pack's physician before he became a beta, he must have come in contact with those kids and knows what they need even before he became a father to a pup and Adrian, she had her way with pups and always love them around.
When the guards finally announced that the game was over and that everyone should stop and the music came to an end, the omega collected the paper from the females and gave it to the guards on stage. You could see the face of this strong wolf, covered with anxiety, expecting two things either a win or a loss.
"Our winner is..." The guard went mute, and Rupert grabbed my hand thinking that we were winning. "The winner goes to the pair, Beta Mason and Ariana."
"What?" Rupert let out a growl and everyone laughed at his outburst, now the reality done on him that Mason was a doctor, the pack theta, everyone saw it coming except Rupert.
"And the losers are?" The guards announced, after dropping a small box at the table of Mason and Ariana. Losers, I thought it was just one before I could say a word, Rupert's hand went up.
"Yes, alpha Rupert." The guard called.
"Who is the second runner-up?" The guard twitched his lips, looking at me to help him out.
"Dear, we should let it pass." I grabbed his hand.
"It's fine, I just want to hear it." He turned to the guard. "Go on."
"Former alpha Oscar pair is the second runner-up." I look at Rupert who was expecting to be in that position still he is not, I run my hand on his shoulder.
"Come on dear, you don't have to be that way, at least, we are not the loser." Those words gave him reassurance, when the losers were announced, it turned out to be Lauren and Alice, the guard asked them to come on stage to receive their punishment, which was, for them to pick a card and whatever they saw on it that is what they will do.
Lauren and Alice, deep their hand into the box to pick a card in one swift move, they both held out a card and gave it to the guards, we all could see the movements of their chests, their anticipation was the cause of the throbbing of their heart.
The guard opened the card and he smiled, we all wondered what the guard said, 'You are going to carry your party till the next game ends."
"What?" Lauren yelled, we all laughed when we saw him fold up his shirt hand, and then pull Alice from the ground, his face was like that of a man that is carrying a bag of cement.
"That lazy bone," everyone laughed at his facial expressions.
"How do they expect me to carry you for as long as this game lasts?" Lauren whispered as Alice wrapped her hand across his neck.
"You never can tell, the game will be over." I know Lauren, he is just acting, he could carry Alice even for the entire day, what is he? He is a wolf and from alpha lineage, he is a strong wolf. When our eyes finally left him, to focus on the game, Lauren and Alice were in their world.
The next game began and it didn't take long before the second game ended and the loser was announced, it turned out that the winner this time was Campbell and Cathy while the losers were Rupert and I. I found it weird because the question wasn't a difficult one, maybe, Rupert wanted to get off the game.
Mason looks at me and Rupert who is now standing on our feet. "You should pray so hard not to get a punishment that you couldn't do, it's obvious you did it on purpose." Everyone burst into laughter, while the guards stretched out a card for us.
"I thought we were supposed to pick?" Rupert's voice came up.
"I am sorry Alpha Rupert, that Is the punishment, you have to read it out loud." The guards said with a frightened voice.
"You will have to dance with your partner, the whole time of the next game, till it's over" Rupert's eyes bulged as he read what was there. "And you are not allowed to pick a song."
"Shit this is not happening?" Rupert said, his forehead already having beads of sweat.
