Iris's POV
Rupert and I were brought to the porch that wasn't too far from the garden, where the party was going on, it was beautifully decorated and the light and flowers made it stand out, Lauren and Alice were relieved now it's I and Rupert to bear the punishment.
As we stood there, everything seemed lovely and romantic, it was like a couple going on a romantic date, my heart fluttered with just the atmosphere, it was cool and welcoming.
"Why do I feel that you two are cheating? This can't be punishment?" Cathy was the first to complain.
"Tsk, baby, we should lose too." Mason said to Ariana.
"What do you think our punishment will be?" Ariana asked.
"Probably, let's eat each other face, that way we could skip the rest of the game." Former alpha Oscar was forced to laugh at the childishness of this naughty beta, as if Mason's words weren't enough, he pulled Ariana's hand and kissed her knuckles.
As the laughter died off, the guard started the next game for the remaining couples and then soft music echoed on the porch. The background song was low but audible to us.
When all eyes were no longer on us, it felt like we were lost in our world, now I moved my gaze to Rupert, the man was sweating, I bet this was the hardest thing he thought he could do all his life that had been an alpha of two pack, is not as difficult as dancing.
He was still and his gaze was just on the card, I wanted to laugh at his expression even though he wasn't saying anything, that blank expression on his face was enough to show his disapproval, I wanted to laugh but I didn't think this is the right time to do that. Knowing that Rupert must be suffering from mental torture, I still want to see him dance, I haven’t heard him sing or dance, I want to dance with my mate, the one the goddess had fated for me. Rupert was running the administration of the Pack well and caring for our pup since he arrived, wasn't difficult for him, he was like a perfect angel.
Lauren winked at Rupert as he and Alice made their to join the others.
"Alpha Rupert, why are you sweating?" I asked teasingly.
"I have never danced before?" He was a bit stiff and his worry didn't make him notice the sarcasm in my voice. 'Do you know how to dance?"
"Don't worry love, I think I have a few lessons on dances, and since it's not a fast song, you don't have anything to worry about. Relax Alpha Rupert, Luna Iris got you covered." I beamed at him, this made him relax a bit, and his muscles were no longer stiff. Not that Rupert is perfect but in my eyes, he is the only wolf that I could love and wanted as a mate.
"Put your hand on my waist. No, don't grip so hard, and relax... Our feet should move like this..." Before I could finish my words, Rupert's feet were already on my feet. "Oops...Ouch..." I let out a soft cry.
"Sorry, I am sorry." Rupert apologizes feeling more embarrassed that this simple stuff he can't do it.
"It's fine, it's not that painful." I couldn't help but chuckle when Rupert didn't seem to get any of the instructions I was giving to him, at first he was feeling embarrassed but as time went on, he laughed at his failure, I wanted to ignore but I ended up laughing as well. "Oh, my perfect alpha seems to have a clumsy foot."
"Dam, I didn't know that I am so bad at this and I have no idea that this is my punishment, I wouldn't have deliberately failed the task."
"So Mason was right after all?" Another round of laughter goes on when Rupert pouts.
"I hope those dudes aren't looking at me. If not, they will tease me nor stop." Rupert added, signing a bit.
"Don't worry about them, they are too engrossed to even notice," I said running my hands on his arms.
"Tell me wifey, am I getting better?"
"Of course, my alpha is a fast learner, now let's move a bit like the rhymes of the song." I have to be patient with Rupert, if I am to be a good mother to our pup, I should be patient and be able to move at his pace.
It didn't take long before Rupert adjusted to my instructions and we were both moving at the same rhyme. Rupert moved his hand and touched my chin, raising it a bit, causing our eyes to meet.
"Are you enjoying yourself and the party, do you like it?" His questions made me hug him, circling my hand around his neck.
"What else could I ask for, everything in this world, you have given me, even when I thought I didn't deserve it."
"Everything here, you deserve it, it's me, who doesn't deserve it, a cold vampire, a she-wolf murderer, the one the pack called a monster, one without a heart, that one who had wished for one thing but death, and then you came, you gave me heaven, you show me how to love myself, you love me even when I was a monster, you got me wondering why the hell you love me when you could have anyone else and then I thought you don't love me, you only wanted me to protect you, you just want to use me but with each day, my wolf kept saying that you love me not because I was protecting you but your heart wanted me, lately everything is making sense to me, I have always loved you, I have love you even before we meet, that's the reason, I wanted to weigh war against Goldfang Pack alpha when he said you left after your parents passed away."
"You were going to do that for me?" I asked.
"Yes, why do you think I kept you when I found out that you are the daughter of Alpha Bill?" I shrugged, trying to tell him that I don't know.
"It's because I couldn't watch you get hurt, I wanted to avoid you, Even though I didn't have a heart back then when you arrived at my castle, I still felt responsible for you and your appearance in the castle unannounced, it's the universe telling me that you and are meant to be with each other, you are the wolf that will break my curse and that our life was trying to each other, a she-wolf run for her safety and a curse hybrid alpha looking for his Redeemer." He smiled, pressing a soft kiss on my head even though we were still dancing. "You are the girl in my dreams."
"Dreams?" I asked, and he nodded.
"Yes, you are always in my dream, crying for me to protect you."
"Why didn't you just take me in then instead of giving me a hard time?"
"Oh Iris, my Luna, I was only protecting my heart, I was just waiting to see if you love me for real and want to love me forever and our meeting wasn't a coincidence, it was fated, we are destined to meet."
Everything seemed like a mirage to me, something I couldn't explain, but if the goddess had fated us to meet on that day, because she wanted our part to cross then I am his Redeemer and he is my protector.
"Of course, you are my Redeemer and I want to love you forever, I don't want to live without you."
"I too don't want to live without you." I said.
"I alpha Rupert, will love you for the rest of my life, you and I will spend eternity together." This time, I threw myself at Rupert, I didn't care about the punishment anymore, I just wanted to be in the hands of my mate, it didn't take long when I felt Iris's tears on my shoulder, I ran my hand on her back to console her. I suck on his neck, then I realized I was getting aroused.
"Iris, would you like to go to the bathroom." Before I could reply, the guard had announced the next person for punishment, I couldn't part my lips to say something, my heat was consuming and I bet Rupert had felt it already that is the reason he asked if I would like to use the bathroom.
"Please excuse us, my Luna needs to use the bathroom, we will be back in a bit." Rupert didn't wait for those teasing eyes to ask the reason, he wanted to go with me to the restroom.
