Rebecca POV:-
It’s night and I am waiting for Ryan to come back. He's not that late. Usually he comes home before sunset because I felt scared at night.
I haven't gone to that room ever since the past month. Just taking a step there is terrifying for me but I am happy that Ryan is here for me.
My heart hurts when I remember his cries. It's something unforgettable. It made me feel like he wanted to say something but couldn't.
The more I try to forget it, the more it gets over my mind.
I quickly shook my head and tried to think of good things. Like how he holds me affectionately, never letting me go. Holding me like I am cherished by him deeply.
Like all my hopes and his hopes are based upon each other.
“Hey, Ryan. Um.. When will you be home?” I sent him a voice message, worried about where he is.
“Sorry to bother you again, please be home soon.” I said, sending him over ten messages to come home soon.
I was so foolish to do something this idiotic. I failed to realize how much the people around me care for me. All thanks to Ryan, he made me feel safe and loved.
He made me realize that I am the one who pushes things away and I am hurting not me but the ones around me too; too much.
“Ryan? Where are you? Come home naa.” I whined, sending him the text.
Ever since then I have decided not to hide my feelings anymore, which is a very good decision. I do sometimes have panic attacks and nightmares but Ryan was here to hold me.
My content is incomprehensible after accepting the love given to me. I smiled and waited for Ryan, resting my elbow on the dining table, wanting to have dinner with him.
“Ryan?” My smile grew wider when I held the sound of the gates being opened, signaling that he had come home.
I quickly got up and went to greet him. I went to the main hall and saw him with the most unexpected person. Jayden.
My smile faded when Ryan was tipsy and had his arm around Jayden's shoulder. I rushed to Ryan, he was silent, no emotions, no words, just devoid.
“Ryan. What happened? Where were you? I texted you, why weren’t you responding?” I asked, concerned about holding his shoulder. He didn't react and Jayden explained,
“We met in a bar, had a few drinks and here’s your drunk husband.” He said with a smile.
I smiled back, “Thanks for bringing him.”
“No worries.” He said. Ryan being a giant, I couldn't handle him alone and every helper left for their quarter an hour ago.
“Here, let me help you.” Jayden helped me to take him to our room.
Ryan remained motionless which kinda scared me. When we placed him on the bed as I cupped his cheeks,
“Ryan.. Say something..” I said softly. He just turned his head away from me and hugged the pillow. I sat beside him and moved my hand over his back.
“I think I should go..” Jayden said hesitantly. I nodded and stood up. Jayden was about to leave but stopped him.
“Uh.. Jayden.. I guess since you both were at the bar.. you would be hungry?” I asked.
He smiled and nodded, “A lot.”
“I can pack you dinner. I am a very good cook!” I chirped.
He smiled and replied, “Thank you.”
“Thank you for bringing Ryan.”
“So.. It’s to get even?” He teased me.
I shrugged my shoulders and replied, “Maybe.”
He chuckled, “Okay.." It felt great to not be a person of facades. I am happy to allow myself to open up.
I packed some dinner and handed it to him, “Here you go.”
“Thanks.” He said and left.
After he left, I went back to our room and saw Ryan sleeping.
I sighed and sat beside him again. I wonder why, of all people, Jayden came. What did he talk to Jayden while being drunk? Why did he drink that much in the first place?
There’s no point asking. I removed his shoes and socks and put them aside. I took off his tie, accessories and belt and put it on the table.
“Welcome home…” I ran my hands in his hair, making them messy and chuckling at it. He was hugging the pillow while curling like a child, I couldn't help but to giggle at this.
I don’t know why but some kind of mischievous thoughts came to my mind as I took out my makeup box and took out my mac red lipstick and drew three lines on each side of his cheeks and made him look like a cat finishing with a circle on his nose.
I tittered and laid down, drifting to sleep not before taking a picture of his adorable face.
The next day, I woke up and saw my cat Ryan using his phone.
A laugh escaped my lips when I looked at him, looking so romantic but the design of his face made him look somehow cute.
He pinched my cheek and said, “Morning.. Why are you laughing?” He asked curiously.
I shook my head and sat up. His smile turned into a smirk and said, “My cat Rebecca.” I narrowed my eyes and got out of the bed and saw that he also drew the same cat face on my face too.
He laughed so did I; when I looked at him and he at me.
“I look cute.” I said making a pout and letting out a ‘meow’ voice. We both laughed and took a picture together.
“Okay, I agree, you truly look cute but less than me.” He hugged me from behind.
“You wish..” I said proudly with a smirk. He kissed my neck and went to the bathroom to fresh up.
We both had our breakfast and he left for work. After he left, I got a call from Jayden, perplexed that after almost fifty days excluding last night's meeting he called.
“Hello?” I asked.
“Hey, Are you free? I am in California for some training. Can we hang out?”
“Now?”
“Yeah, My shift will start in a few hours, we can go on a walk until then... if you want to?” He asked.
I bit my lips as my heart skipped a beat when I remembered Ryan saying that I am his woman and no one can look at me the way he does.
My heart began to beat fast as some strange yet satisfactory sensation arose in me.
“Can I call you back?” I asked.
“Okay." He said as I cut the call. I then called Ryan,
“Hello?” His voice came.
“Hello, Ryan.. I want to ask.. can. .I..” I trailed off, feeling nervous that he might not like the idea.
“What is it, Rebecca?” He asked.
“Can I go out with Jayden? Doctor Herd also said it would be good if I go out." I asked real quick, waiting for him to scold me to ask something like this.
“As long as it's not a date, I can't allow another man to steal my woman.” He said, chuckling a little.
My eyes widened, he is actually allowing me? Ryan , who cannot bear the look of any other man at me, is allowing me to go out with my ex, not ex but in a sense but still he is actually allowing it?
Is he doing this because of my condition?
“Are you okay, Ryan?”I asked,
“Yeah, why? It would be a refreshing outing too.”
"No.. it’s just..”
“No, You know Marianne is out of the country for Red Bennet’s shoot for a while and you must be lonely at home.. so I thought that.. you could get some company.” He explained.
“And what about your company?” I Asked, timid.
“I am busy, a lot of work, you know... so… Yeah, you can go.”
‘You are never busy for me. I know that much.’
